Absorbent core, articles comprising said core, and methods of making

An absorbent core comprising substantially continuous zones of one or more high fluid distribution structures and discontinuous zones of fluid absorption structures surrounding the one or more high fluid distribution structures, wherein the one or more high fluid distribution structures are arranged to distribute fluid across the absorbent core at a speed that is faster than the speed of fluid distribution across the absorbent core by said discontinuous fluid absorption structures, and wherein said continuous zones extend along a path that is substantially parallel to at least a portion of the perimeter of the core, said portion of the perimeter of the core comprising at least a portion of the sides of the core and one of the ends of the core.

Method and apparatus for predicting excretion by a diaper wearer

Excretion by a diaper wearer in a diaper is predicted by providing in or on the diaper on the wearer an excretion detector capable of detecting excretion by the diaper wearer and a motion sensor capable of detecting movements of the diaper wearer. The sensor continuously detects and at least temporarily records movements of the diaper wearer, and these detected movements are analyzed to determine movement patterns. Then, on detection of excretion by the detector, a movement pattern immediately preceding the detection of excretion is stored or flagged as a critical movement pattern. Thereafter each time movements matching the critical movement pattern are detected, a signal is sent to a user.

Method for indicating and alarming about wet level of diaper

A method for indicating and alarming about wet level of a diaper involves using a humidity sensor to perform relative humidity detection on the diaper, when the detected relative humidity is below 50% rh60% rh, showing the diaper's wet level as 0% rh, and when the detected relative humidity is 85% rh95% rh or more, showing the diaper's wet level as 100% rh, wherein functional conversion is performed to convert the relative humidity ranging between 60% rh and 85% rh95% rh proportionally into the diaper's wet level between 0% rh and 100% rh.

A smart diaper to be worn by a user, includes an absorption material configured to absorb to form a soiled area, a pair of electrode sensing circuits comprising a first electrode sensing circuit and a second electrode sensing circuit, which are positioned parallel to each other and are in contact with the absorbent material, wherein the pair of electrode sensing circuits can be laid out in a spatially distributed pattern across the absorption material, and a controller that can apply a voltage across the pair of electrode sensing circuits and to produce an electrical current that increases with area of the soiled area according to the spatially distributed pattern.

Apparatus and method for product and signaling device matching

The present subject matter relates to absorbent articles and signaling devices for use therewith. The signaling device includes one or more non-invasive sensors configured to detect the presence of a substance, such as a body fluid, in the absorbent article. The signaling device can provide an audible and/or visible alert to the user of the absorbent article when it detects the presence of a substance. The absorbent article includes one or more identifiable characteristics the presence of which permits operation of the signaling device. In this manner, the present disclosure provides for product and signaling device matching for use.
