An ophthalmic illumination apparatus can include a movable support. The apparatus can also include an optical array coupled to the movable support and positioned to interact with a light beam from a light source. The optical array can include first and second optical elements. The first optical element can be configured to reflect and transmit first associated amounts of the light beam. The second optical element can be configured to reflect and transmit second associated amounts of the light beam different than the first optical element. The apparatus can further include a drive mechanism coupled to the movable support. The drive mechanism can be configured to cause the movable support to selectively move the optical array such that the light beam is selectively incident upon one of the first optical element or the second optical element. Associated devices, systems, and methods are also provided.

2×2 wavelength selective switch array

Methods, systems, and apparatus for optical wavelength selective switching. One 22 wavelength selective switch array includes a plurality of optical input ports configured to receive one or more optical input beams, and a plurality of optical output ports configured to receive one or more one or more optical output beams wherein the plurality of optical input ports and optical output ports form an array of 22 optical port pairs; one or more optical conditioning and wavelength dispersion elements; a polarization modulator array having a plurality of polarizing modulation cells, each cell configured to independently change a polarization orientation of an optical beam passing through the cell and associated with a particular wavelength channel; and a polarization-selective beam-routing optical element configured to route each particular input beam to either a first output port or a second output port according to polarization orientation.

An optical switch comprising sets of input and output ports, each input and output port configured to transport an optical signal having at least one component frequency channel. The switch comprises a first programmable deflection plane configured to deflect images incident on it from the set of input ports, and a second programmable deflection plane configured to deflect first and second sets of beams incident on it from the first programmable deflection plane towards the set of output ports. The switch also comprises an optical structure positioned in the optical path between the first and second programmable deflection planes at an image plane of the first programmable deflection plane, configured to enable the deflected first and second sets of beams from the second programmable deflection plane to be directed to the set of output ports through a gap in the images projected on the image plane.

Optical switch module and optical by-pass apparatus

An optical switch module includes a housing, at least two first collimators, at least two second collimators, a relay, and plural prisms. The housing has an accommodating space, a first sidewall, and a second sidewall. The first collimators are located on the first sidewall. Each of the first collimators connects even number of first fibers. The second collimators are located on the second sidewall. Each of the second collimators connects even number of second fibers. The second collimators are respectively aligned with the first collimators. The relay is located in the accommodating space and has a rotation support. The prisms are located on the rotation support and respectively between the first and second collimators. The rotation support is configured to enable at least one of the prisms to be in light transmission paths between the first fibers and the second fibers.
