Jacket with graduated temperature regulation
11602186 · 2023-03-14 · ·

A puffer jacket configured to provide improved temperature regulation through graduated venting. In one embodiment, the jacket includes a back panel with baffles and insulation arranged to provide reduced insulation and increased venting of heat and humidity toward the center of the back. The back panel may include an alternating arrangement of insulation baffles (containing insulation) and vent baffles (free of insulation). The insulation baffles and vent baffles may be formed by joining inner and outer layers of fabric with laterally extending lines of stitching. The lines of stitching may follow paths selected to progressively change the relative size of the vent baffles and the insulation baffles toward the center of the back. For example, the lines of stitching may give the insulation baffles a somewhat hourglass shape shortening toward the center of the back resulting in increasingly greater venting of heat and humidity toward the center of the back.

Vented Garment

The technology described herein relates to breathable, vented, and insulating garments. More particularly, the technology described herein relates to garments with chambers to retain an insulating fill material. Openings along seams between the insulating chambers may achieve evaporative moisture or air transfer from the inside (proximal to the body of a wearer) of the garment to the outside environment. In an aspect, the garments comprise one or more insulated zones provided with one or more vented-insulation sections provided at locations on the garment configured to align with one or more areas of a wearer's body that are more sensitive to environmental conditions (e.g. temperature) and/or are prone to faster heat loss.

PROCESS FOR MAKING A GARMENT
20230124736 · 2023-04-20 · ·

A process for making a garment, provided at least with a trunk (T), a right sleeve (MD) and a left sleeve (MS), includes the steps of: producing a tubular textile article (3), by means of a textile machine, having a shape with cylindrical surface extended around a central axis (X) between an upper edge (4) and a lower edge (5), wherein on the tubular textile article a front side (6) and a rear side (7) are definable, divided from each other with respect to a median plane (A); defining or identifying the textile article a plurality of cutting lines; cutting the textile article along the plurality of cutting lines so as to define and separate a plurality of fabric portions from one another; joining the fabric portions so as to obtain the trunk (T) of the garment, the right sleeve (MD) and the left sleeve (MS). Following the joining step, the garment (1) obtained from the tubular textile article exhibits zones of passage between the trunk (T) and the right (MD) and left (MS) sleeves lacking seams or discontinuities in the fabric, i.e. the passage from the fabric of the trunk to the fabric of the right and left sleeves occurs without interruptions.

Provided are a method of collectively preparing moisture-permeable waterproof clothing and clothing prepared thereby. The method includes a step of cutting a fabric substrate and a film into a plurality of pieces, wherein the plurality of pieces includes at least a first and second group, wherein the first group includes a first substrate and film, and the second group includes a second substrate and film; a step of forming a first laminate by processing the first group; a step of forming a second laminate by processing the second group; a step of forming a seam by connecting the first and second substrate; a step of covering a seam area with the second film and then covering the second film with the first film; and a step of finally laminating the first and the second laminate along with the seam.

LAYERED THUMBHOLE STRUCTURE

A sleeve cuff is provided for a sleeve having an anterior patch affixed to the sleeve and covering at least a portion of a cutout in the sleeve, a distal strap affixed to the sleeve and spanning over at least a portion of a cutout in the sleeve, and the distal strap overlapping at least a portion of the anterior patch to form an aperture for receiving a thumb therethrough. The sleeve cuff has a plurality of configurations, including at least a closed configuration where the aperture is closed and minimizes the wearer’s exposure to wind and air elements therethrough, and an opened configuration where the aperture is opened and minimizes the air penetration around the received thumb.

A continuous stream of elements or parts of garments is formed by providing a continuous first substrate and optionally a continuous fusible substrate; positioning the continuous fusible substrate on the continuous first substrate to form a combination; fusing the combination to form a first fused combination; folding the first fused combination to form a folded fused combination; and then pressing the folded fused combination to form the continuous stream, wherein the continuous stream includes multiple individual elements or parts. The elements or parts may be collar stands or waistbands.

Textile Components, such as upper members for articles of footwear, include: (a) a first portion having a first edge, wherein the first edge includes a first portion of material engaged with a first seam support material via a first thermoplastic material; (b) a second portion having a second edge, wherein the second edge includes a second portion of material engaged with a second seam support material via a second thermoplastic material; and (c) structure to engage the first and second edges in an abutting edge joint (such as a zig-zag stitch). The resulting textile components may be lightweight and breathable (e.g., due to use of lightweight upper fabric), having a comfortable fit (e.g., due to the abutting edge joint), while still providing a strong, stable, and durable construction (e.g., due to the presence of the seam support member(s)).
