STRUCTURE FOR FLAMING DROPLET SUPPRESSION IN OPTICAL FIBER CABLES

An optical communication cable includes a jacket having an interior surface that defines a cable jacket internal cross-sectional area and a plurality of optical fibers, wherein less than 60% of the cable jacket internal cross-sectional area is occupied by the cross-sectional area of the plurality of optical fibers. A scaffolding structure is provided adjacent to and supporting the jacket such that when the jacket is subjected to a burn and melts, the melted jacket material bonds to the scaffolding structure rather than sloughing off.

PULLING GRIP ASSEMBLY FOR CABLES AND RELATED METHODS

A fiber optic cable assembly comprises: a cable jacket; optical fibers carried within the cable jacket and extending beyond a first end of the cable jacket; a furcation body positioned on the first end of the cable jacket such that the optical fibers extend beyond the furcation body; and a pulling grip assembly having a proximal end selectively secured to the furcation body, a distal end opposite the proximal end, and an interior that contains fiber end sections. The interior of the pulling grip assembly is sealed off from an exterior of the cable assembly to provide sealed protection for the fiber end sections. The pulling grip assembly may include one or more air intake devices (e.g., cap or diaphragm) to harness energy from pressurized air used in a jetting process and thereby make it easier to pull the cable assembly through ducts.

Armored data cable assembly

A data cable assembly includes at least one pair of conductors twisted about one another, optionally disposed along an outer surface of a pair separator. The conductors are covered by an inner jacket, and an armor disposed on the outer surface of the inner jacket. The inner jacket is covered by an outer jacket with a rip cord disposed between the armor and the outer jacket.

Rollable optical fiber ribbon with colour line marking

The present disclosure provides a rollable optical fiber ribbon. The rollable optical fiber ribbon includes a plurality of optical fibers positioned along a longitudinal axis of the rollable optical fiber ribbon. In addition, the rollable optical fiber ribbon includes a matrix material covering the plurality of optical fibers to provide flexibility to the rollable optical fiber ribbon. Further, the rollable optical fiber ribbon includes at least one colour line marking on the rollable optical fiber ribbon along the longitudinal axis of the rollable optical fiber ribbon.

OPTICAL FIBER CABLE HAVING BUFFER COUPLED TO ARMOR USING WATER-BLOCK ADHESIVE AND METHOD

Embodiments of the disclosure relate to an optical fiber cable. The optical fiber cable includes a cable jacket having a first inner surface and a first outer surface. The first inner surface defines a central bore along a longitudinal axis of the optical fiber cable. The optical fiber cable also includes optical fibers disposed within the central bore and a buffer tube surrounding the optical fibers. The buffer tube has a second inner surface and a second outer surface. The optical fiber cable also includes an armor layer disposed between the first inner surface of the cable jacket and the second outer surface of the buffer tube and a water-blocking adhesive disposed between the armor layer and the first outer surface of the buffer tube. The water-blocking adhesive extends along the longitudinal axis of the optical fiber cable and around a circumference of the buffer tube.

The optical fibre ribbon of the present disclosure has one or more base access. The optical fibre ribbon of the present disclosure includes a plurality of optical fibres, a coating layer bonding the plurality of optical fibres, and a slit. The slit in the optical fibre ribbon is made between two optical fibres of the plurality of the optical fibres. The optical fibre ribbon has flat surface on top and corrugated surface in bottom. The optical fibre ribbon has a coating layer that is a layer of matrix material. The coating layer is made of single layer of matrix material.

FIBER OPTIC CABLE TERMINAL WITH A PUSHABLE STUB CABLE

A fiber optic cable terminal proximally terminates a stub cable carrying one or more optical fibers. The stub cable is structurally adapted to be advanced through at least a portion of a conduit by distally pushing a distal end of the stub cable from a location that is proximal to a proximal end of the conduit and without applying any pulling force at any location that is distal to the proximal end of the conduit.

A factory processed fiber optic ferrule assembly and field installable cable system are configured to pass through tight, microducts when routed to a demarcation point. A connector housing attaches to the fiber optic ferrule assembly at the demarcation point (or after leaving the tight, microducts) to form a connectorized end of the optical fiber. A fiber tip is protected before leaving the factory until connection is desired.
