An absorbent insert comprising an absorbent material between a top core wrap sheet and a back core wrap sheet, said absorbent insert having a first and second longitudinal edge and a first and second transverse edge, wherein the absorbent insert is provided with at least one elongate channel zone, wherein the absorbent insert is free of side panels, fasteners, cuffs and elastic waist elements.

An absorbent article having a front edge intended to be positioned at a front side of a person and a rear edge intended to be positioned at a rear side of a person, said absorbent article comprising a liquid pervious topsheet, a liquid impervious backsheet, and an absorbent material between said topsheet and said backsheet, wherein at least a first spacer element is included between said topsheet and said backsheet, wherein the first spacer element has a top side facing the topsheet, a bottom side facing the backsheet, and a number of lateral sides between the top and the bottom side, and wherein the absorbent material extends along at least two opposite lateral sides of the first spacer element; said first spacer element being configured to guide liquid to the absorbent material upon wetting of the absorbent article.

An absorbent article comprising a liquid permeable topsheet, a backsheet, an absorbent core comprising an absorbent material and a core wrap is provided. The core comprises at least one channel-forming area that is substantially free of absorbent material. The absorbent article comprises a masking layer between the bottom side of the core wrap and the backsheet. The masking layer and the bottom side of the core wrap are only partially bonded to each other at their interface, the interface thus comprising a bonded portion and an unbonded portion, wherein the channel-forming area at least partially corresponds to the unbonded portion of the interface, so that when the absorbent material swells, the masking layer can decouple from the three-dimensional channels.

A disposable absorbent article having a longitudinal centerline and a lateral centerline generally perpendicular to the longitudinal centerline is described herein. The disposable absorbent article has a topsheet; a backsheet; and an absorbent system disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet. The absorbent system has a first and second absorbent core configured such that there is an overlap between the first and second absorbent core and a pair of outboard distances for the first and second absorbent cores.

An absorbent article includes a front waist edge, a rear waist edge longitudinally opposing the front waist edge, and a longitudinal axis extending from a midpoint of the front waist edge to a midpoint of the rear waist edge. An absorbent system including a first absorbent core layer, the first absorbent core layer made up of cellulose and superabsorbent material, a second absorbent core layer disposed above the first absorbent core layer, the second absorbent core layer made up of synthetic material and superabsorbent material, the second absorbent layer having end portions that are folded so that the second absorbent layer has a C-shape, a first acquisition-distribution layer disposed over the second absorbent core layer, a core wrap disposed around the first absorbent core layer, the second absorbent core layer, and the first acquisition-distribution layer, and a second acquisition-distribution layer disposed over the core wrap.

An absorbent core for an absorbent article is provided an absorbent material, the absorbent core comprising one or more first zones comprising a first amount of absorbent material and one or more second zones comprising a second amount of absorbent material, wherein each second zone is at least partly delimited from the other second zones by the one or more first zones characterized in that the first amount of bulk absorbent material is different than the second amount of absorbent material, each amount of absorbent material being determined as weight per unit area.
