Light disc microscopy for fluorescence microscopes
Methods for imaging a sample using fluorescence microscopy, systems for imaging a sample using fluorescence microscopy, and illumination systems for fluorescence microscopes. In some examples, a method includes positioning the sample such that a plane of interest of the sample is coplanar with a focal plane of a detection objective of a microscope. The method includes positioning a paraboloidal mirror around the sample such that a focal point of the paraboloidal mirror is coplanar with the focal plane of the detection objective and the plane of interest of the sample. The method includes directing a beam of annularly collimated excitation light on the paraboloidal mirror to focus a disc of light on the sample and thereby to provide 360 degree lateral illumination of the sample. The method includes imaging the sample through the detection objective.
Lighting device and inspection apparatus having the same
A lighting device includes a light source generating a beam of illumination light, a ring-shaped aperture shielding a central portion of the illumination light and transforming the beam of illumination light into ring-shaped illumination light, and an object lens focusing the ring-shaped illumination light such that a specimen can be illuminated with the ring-shaped illumination light. An inspection apparatus including the light device also has a beam splitter and an image sensor picking up light reflected and/or diffracted from the specimen through the beam splitter. Because a central portion of the illumination light is shielded, lens flare of light transmitted by the beam splitter and the object lens is prevented thereby preventing speckles in the image produced by the image sensor.
Observation apparatus
An observation apparatus is provided with: an illumination optical system that emits illumination light upward from below a specimen; and an image-capture optical system that captures, below the specimen, transmitted light which is the illumination light that has been reflected above the specimen and passed through the specimen, wherein the illumination optical system is provided with a diffusion plate, the image-capture optical system is provided with an objective optical system, and, in the case in which an emission region in the illumination optical system is projected to a pupil of the image-capture optical system, predetermined conditions are satisfied so as to partially block the illumination light at an edge portion of the pupil of the objective optical system.
ANALYSIS DEVICE
An analysis and observation device includes: an electromagnetic wave emitter that emits a primary electromagnetic wave; a reflective object lens having a primary mirror provided with a primary reflection surface reflecting a secondary electromagnetic wave and a secondary mirror provided with a secondary reflection surface receiving and further reflecting the secondary electromagnetic wave; first and second detectors that receive the secondary electromagnetic wave and generate an intensity distribution spectrum; and a controller that performs component analysis of a sample based on the intensity distribution spectrum. A transmissive region through which the primary electromagnetic wave is transmitted is provided at a center of the secondary mirror. The transmissive region transmits the primary electromagnetic wave, which has been emitted from the electromagnetic wave emitter and passed through an opening of the primary mirror, thereby emitting the primary electromagnetic wave along an analysis optical axis of the reflective object lens.
Macro inspection systems, apparatus and methods
The disclosed technology relates to an inspection apparatus that includes a stage configured to retain a specimen for inspection, an imaging device having a field of view encompassing at least a portion of the stage to view a specimen retained on the stage, and a plurality of lights disposed on a moveable platform. The inspection apparatus can further include a control module coupled to the imaging device, each of the lights and the moveable platform. The control module is configured to perform operations including: receiving image data from the imaging device, where the image data indicates an illumination landscape of light incident on the specimen; and automatically modifying, based on the image data, an elevation of the moveable platform or an intensity of one or more of the lights to adjust the illumination landscape. Methods and machine-readable media are also contemplated.
MOTORIZED FULL FIELD ADAPTIVE MICROSCOPE
An optical imaging system for imaging a target during a medical procedure, the imaging system involving an optical assembly having moveable zoom optics and moveable focus optics, a zoom actuator and a focus actuator for positioning the zoom and focus optics, respectively, a controller for controlling the zoom and focus actuators independently in response to received control input, a camera for capturing an image of the target from the optical assembly, the system capable of performing autofocus during a medical procedure.
ILLUMINATION UNIT FOR MICROSCOPES
An illumination unit for microscopes has an MID structure for the free spatial arrangement of different electronic and optical components, so that surfaces of a three-dimensional carrier are available as a replacement for printed circuit boards. The MID structure designed as an illumination unit contains a closed annular main part having an annular free beam opening, where columns are arranged on the main part. On the free ends of the columns, illumination means are provided which can be contacted via conductor paths provided on the surface of the MID structure. The columns contain a cooling structure on a side surface facing away from the free beam opening, and a plug for the power supply and a control unit for controlling the illumination means are provided on the main part of the MID structure, The MID structure designed as an illumination unit is provided in a housing of a microscope objective.
