A light-guiding device is configured to accept image light through a light incidence part, guide the image light through reflection, and emit, to outside through a light emission part, the image light that is guided, the light-guiding device includes a protective member having a sheet shape and configured to cover a body member in a region corresponding to an optical surface of a surface of the light-guiding device, and an adhesive layer is formed between the body member and the protective member.
Compact head-mounted display system having uniform image
There is disclosed an optical device, including a light-transmitting substrate having an input aperture, an output aperture, at least two major surfaces and edges, an optical element for coupling light waves into the substrate by total internal reflection, at least one partially reflecting surface located between the two major surfaces of the light-transmitting substrate for partially reflecting light waves out of the substrate, a first transparent plate, having at least two major surfaces, one of the major surfaces of the transparent plate being optically attached to a major surface of the light-transmitting substrate defining an interface plane, and a beam-splitting coating applied at the interface plane between the substrate and the transparent plate, wherein light waves coupled inside the light-transmitting substrate are partially reflected from the interface plane and partially pass therethrough.
Head-up display
A head-up display has a display element, a projection system, a diffusing plate, and a mirror element. In such head-up displays, frequently irritations due to stray light occur. A head-up display that produces less irritation from incident stray light is therefore desirable. The diffusing plate has focusing elements on its side facing the projection system and a light-blocking mask on its side facing away from the projection system.
Near-to-eye display method and apparatus and wearable device
A near-to-eye display apparatus includes a plurality of pixel island groups. Each pixel island group includes a plurality of pixel islands. Each pixel island corresponds to a micro lens. By adjusting a position of the micro lens relative to the corresponding pixel island in the pixel island group, on a plane where the micro lenses are located, or a position, of the pixel island in the pixel island group relative to the corresponding micro lens, on a plane where the pixel islands are located, imaging points in the imaging regions formed by at least part of different pixel islands in the pixel island groups do not overlap with each other and are arranged alternately.
OPTICAL DEVICE AND DISPLAY DEVICE
A head-mounted display (HMD) having a line-of-sight detection function includes angle selection type transmission elements that are disposed in a finder optical path for eyes of a user, respectively, a light projecting unit and a light receiving unit for line-of-sight detection, and is configured to be capable of adjusting a direction of a finder to a detected line-of-sight direction. The angle selection type transmission elements have first to third opening portions with different directions. The first and second opening portions limit a passage direction of light in first and second regions in a finder optical path, respectively. The third opening portion is formed around a line connecting an eye point and the light receiving unit.
Projection arrangement for a head-up display (HUD) with P-polarised light portions
A projection arrangement for a head-up display, including a composite pane, including an outer pane and an inner pane, which are joined to one another via a thermoplastic intermediate layer, having an upper edge and a lower edge and an HUD region; an electrically conductive coating on the surface of the outer pane or the inner pane facing the intermediate layer or provided within the intermediate layer; and a projector that is aimed at the HUD region; wherein the light of the projector has at least one p-polarised portion and wherein the electrically conductive coating has, in the spectral range from 400 nm to 650 nm, only a single local reflection maximum for p-polarised light, with this maximum in the range from 510 nm to 550 nm.
GHOST IMAGE FREE HEAD-UP DISPLAY
An image generation system for providing a ghost image free head-up display, the system comprising a display screen having a front surface and a back surface, a picture generation unit for projecting an image towards the display screen for reflection towards a predetermined eye box, and a field lens, wherein the picture generation unit is configured to project light through the field lens such that light is incident on the front surface of the display screen forming a first virtual image, wherein a portion of the light is transmitted through the display screen and is incident on the back surface of the display screen forming a second virtual image, wherein the first and second virtual images have an offset, wherein the field lens is configured such that the offset is below a threshold magnitude and the first and second virtual images are substantially overlaid as viewed from the eye box.
