The head-up display device includes a display element that emits image light and a virtual image optical system. The virtual image optical system includes a lens unit and a free curved surface mirror disposed along the emission direction of the image light in this order from a position close to the display element. The display element is disposed with a tilting attitude with respect to the optical axis of the lens unit with an end on the housing aperture side in an emission surface being close to an incidence surface in the lens unit and with an end on the opposite side of the housing aperture in an emission surface being apart from an incidence surface in the lens unit. The lens unit has an optical characteristic of optically enlarging an optical path length difference according to a virtual image distance difference.

HEAD-UP DISPLAY

A head-up display includes a mirror body, a mirror having a shaft serving a rotary axis, a bearing member which holds the shaft of the mirror to be rotatable, a torsion spring through which the shaft penetrates and which urges the mirror in a predetermined rotational direction of the rotary axis with respect to the bearing member, and a housing which accommodates the mirror, the bearing member, and the torsion spring. The torsion spring is disposed on an opposite side opposite to the mirror with respect to the bearing member. The bearing member includes a protrusion to which one end of the torsion spring is hung. The housing includes a depressed portion fitted to the bearing member to fix the bearing member.

Directional Backlit Display Device with Eye Tracking
20230111590 · 2023-04-13 ·

A directional backlit display device includes a light source module, a reflective narrow-angle diffuser, a backlit type display panel, an eye tracking device, and a controller. The diffuser includes a shaft and is utilized to reflect and uniformly diffuse the light to provide a uniform directional light beam. The backlit type display device panel is included on the projecting optical path of the uniform directional light beam. The uniform directional light beam illuminates an image displayed on the backlit type display device panel and projects to a projection area. The controller receives an eye position information from the eye tracking device and determines a coordinate. The controller determines a corrective projection area when the coordinate deviates from the projection area, and the drive module rotates the reflective narrow-angle diffuser around an axis of the shaft according to the corrective projection area, so the image projection area moves with the eye.

Wearable pupil-forming display apparatus

A wearable display apparatus is described herein. The wearable display apparatus includes a headset, a left-eye optical system, a right-eye optical system, and an inter-pupil distance (IPD) adjustment system coupled to the headset, the left-eye optical system, and the right-eye optical system for adjusting an inter-pupil spacing between the left-eye optical system and the right-eye optical system.

See-through computer display systems

Embodiments include a head-worn display including a display panel sized and positioned to produce a field of view to present digital content to an eye of a user, and a processor adapted to present the digital content to the display panel such that the digital content is only presented in a portion of the field of view, the portion being in the middle of the field of view such that horizontally opposing edges of the field of view are blank areas. The processor is adapted to shift the digital content into one of the blank areas to adjust the convergence distance of the digital content and thereby change the perceived distance from the user to the digital content.
