A head-up display includes a display panel, a parallax barrier, an optical system including a reflector and an optical member, and a controller. The optical system projects a virtual image of an image displayed by the display panel onto a virtual image plane. The controller controls the display panel such that first second images which have a parallax with each other are projected as a three-dimensional image in a field of view of the user, and a convergence angle at which the user views a point on the three-dimensional image is equal to or less than a maximum convergence angle which is greater by 0.43 degrees than a convergence angle for viewing a point on the virtual image plane and is equal to or greater than a minimum convergence angle which is less by 0.43 degrees than the convergence angle for viewing a point on the virtual image plane.

A display device includes a light source, a liquid crystal panel including a first sub-pixel and a second sub-pixel adjacent to the first sub-pixel in a first direction, and an optical control element including a light shielding layer. Each of the first sub-pixel and the second sub-pixel has a first width in the first direction. The light shielding layer includes an opening portion having a second width in the first direction. The second width is 1.5 times the first width. In all of light rays irradiated from the light source and transmitting through the opening portion, an angle between a first light ray transmitting through the first sub-pixel and emitted to an outside and the second light ray transmitting through the second sub-pixel and emitted to the outside is less than or equal to 2 degrees.

METHOD AND DEVICE TO CALIBRATE PARALLAX OPTICAL ELEMENT TO CHANGE OF LOOK DOWN ANGLE

An electronic device includes a display device configured to output an image, a parallax optical element configured to provide a light corresponding to the image output from the display device, to an eyebox of a user, and a processor configured to adjust a parameter of the parallax optical element based on a change of a look down angle (LDA) between the eyebox and a virtual image plane formed by the display device and the parallax optical element.

Display Apparatus and Three-Dimensional Display Method Thereof

The present disclosure relates to a display apparatus and a three-dimensional display method thereof. A via hole at least passing through a base substrate is formed in an array substrate of a liquid crystal display panel, and a signal line on a upper surface of the array substrate can be connected with a driving chip bonded onto an electroluminescent display substrate, through to the via hole on a lower surface of the array substrate and through a conductive material in an optical clear adhesive. A signal line on the electroluminescent display substrate also can be connected with a driving chip bonded onto an upper surface of the array substrate, through the conductive material in the optical clear adhesive on a lower surface of the array substrate and through the via hole.

A display device includes a display unit in which pixels having first and second regions are arrayed in a matrix, the first region emitting first color light for displaying a stereoscopic image including images of a plurality of viewing points and the second region emitting second color light in order to display the stereoscopic image. A separation unit separates optically the images of the respective viewing points from each other so that the images of different viewing points are observed by different eyes of a viewer, wherein in a region on the display unit in which the image of a predetermined viewing point is displayed, widths of the first and second regions in a parallax direction of the stereoscopic image are approximately the same and widths of the first and second regions in a vertical direction, which is approximately perpendicular to the parallax direction, are different.
