A film for applying to an ophthalmic lens is described. The film, or the combination of the film and the ophthalmic lens are designed to prevent or slow the development or progression of myopia. The film has a base refractive index and includes at least one gradient index optical element. Ophthalmic lenses, such as spectacle lenses and contact lenses, that include the films are also described.
Multi-ring multi-focal-length single-ring inner wavy lens
Disclosed is a multi-ring multi-focal-length single-ring inner wavy lens. The lens comprises a main lens area and a concentric circular ring area. The concentric circular ring area comprises a plurality of circular rings, the plurality of circular rings are concentrically distributed with the center of the lens as the center, the width of an annulus between every two adjacent circular rings gradually increases from inside to outside, and the circular rings each are of a wavy structure. Each wavy structure comprises peaks and valleys, the diopter of a position where each peak is located is greater than that of the main lens area, and the diopter of a position where each valley is located is smaller than that of the main lens area. The lens disclosed by the present disclosure can provide a plurality of focus regions to enhance the fitness of human eyes.
METHODS TO AVOID BLUR ADAPTATION USING MYOPIA CONTROL CONTACT LENSES
Methods for reducing progression of myopia are described. These methods may be understood to be myopia control methods. The methods include a step of providing at least one contact lens having an optic zone and a peripheral zone surrounding the optic zone. The optic zone includes a central region and an annular region that surrounds the central region. The annular region includes a treatment portion that is not rotationally symmetric about an axis of the lens. And, the methods include a step of rotating about the axis, over time, the treatment portion of the at least one contact lens on the eye, wherein the rotation reduces adaptation to a treatment stimulus by the person over time.
METHODS OF INCREASED CONTACT LENS ROTATION
A contact lens for use in preventing or slowing the development or progression of myopia, and methods of manufacturing and using such a lens. The optic zone of the lens comprises a central region having a curvature providing a base power. The optic zone comprises an annular region circumferentially surrounding the central region. The annular region comprises a treatment zone having a characteristic that reduces the contrast of an image of an object that is formed by light passing through the central region and the treatment zone compared to an image of an object that would be formed by light passing through only the central region. The characteristic that causes the contrast reduction varies with meridian around the annular region. A peripheral zone surrounding the annular region has a constant thickness profile in every meridian or a variation in thickness configured to promote rotation of the lens.
CONTACT LENSES FOR USE IN PREVENTING OR SLOWING THE DEVELOPMENT OR PROGRESSION OF MYOPIA AND RELATED METHODS
A contact lens for use in preventing or slowing the development or progression of myopia, and methods of manufacturing and using such a lens. The lens includes an optic zone and a peripheral zone that has a variation in thickness configured to control rotation of the lens. The optic zone comprises a central region having a base power that focuses light from distant point objects to a distal focal surface, said light forming a blur circle as it passes through a proximal focal surface. An annular region surrounding the central region, includes an add power region spanning less than 75% of the annular region, and having an add power of 0.5 D or more. Points defining centres of curvature of the add power region form a segment of an annulus. The add power region focuses light from distant point objects to form a focused arc at a proximal focal surface.
MULTI-SPECTRAL AND MULTI-FOCAL CONTROL OF MYOPIA
A method of improving emmetropization or slowing myopia development in an eye is provided that involves adjusting the vision in the eye to achieve one or both of increase the distance between the long-wavelength focal plane and the short wavelength focal plane; and position the short wavelength focal plane closer to the cornea than it would normally be located. Multi-spectral devices (e.g., lenses and spectacles) are provided that are useful to improve emmetropization or preventing or reducing the development of myopia, which are optionally multi-focal as well.
Methods And Devices For Refractive Corrections Of Presbyopia
Methods for treating presbyopia in a patient's eye involve inducing spherical aberration in a central area of the pupil. In embodiments, refractive properties of an eye are measured to obtain a baseline refractive correction. A lens for wearing on the eye is provided to create spherical aberration or a distribution of spherical aberrations beyond the baseline refractive correction in the central area of the pupil. The central area of the pupil has a diameter of between 1.5 mm and 4.0 mm and has negligible spherical aberration without the treatment.
A CONTACT LENS FOR MYOPIA WITH OR WITHOUT ASTIGMATISM
The present disclosure relates to contact lenses for use with eyes experiencing eye-length related disorders, like myopia with or without astigmatism. This invention relates to a contact lens for managing myopia with or without astigmatism; wherein the contact lens is configured with an optical zone defined substantially centred about its optical axis to provide a meridionally and azimuthally variant power distribution resulting, at least in part, in a foveal correction of the myopic eye and, at least in part, resulting in a conoid of partial blur at the retina of the myopic eye, serving as a directional cue or an optical stop signal; and a non-optical peripheral carrier zone about the optical zone configured with a invariant azimuthal thickness distribution, with or without rotation assisting features, to further provide temporally and spatially varying stop signals to decelerate, control, inhibit, or reduce the rate of myopia progression substantially consistent over time.
DUAL CONFIGURATION CONTACT LENSES
A contact lens having more than one configuration is disclosed herein. The optical power of the contact lens may be dynamically changed through the different configurations of the contact lens. The different configurations may be actuated using a valve. Also disclosed herein is a contact lens comprising a dimension, which contact lens is configured to have the dimension change non-linearly as a function of a pressure applied to the contact lens.
