Variable focus lens, and preparing method of the same
The present disclosure relates to a variable focus lens containing graphene, a preparing method of the variable focus lens, a focus controlling method of the variable focus lens, and a display device including the variable focus lens.
Rewritable lens and method of manufacturing
A rewritable and freezable lens and method for manufacturing thereof are disclosed. This lens includes at least one active element that has optical properties that can be written, frozen and rewritten into new values at least twice. Rewritable and freezable lenses comprising active index polymer dispersed liquid crystal materials are disclosed. In-situ re-adaptation of spectacle and contact lenses is possible at the point of sale. In-vivo re-adaptation of intraocular lenses in the doctor's room is feasible, avoiding further surgery.
Device, system and method for detecting a direction of gaze based on a magnetic field interaction
Techniques and mechanisms for determining a direction of gaze by a user of an ophthalmic device. In an embodiment, at least a portion of a magnetic field is generated by one of the ophthalmic device and an auxiliary reference device while the ophthalmic device is disposed in or on an eye of the user, and while the auxiliary reference device is adhered on the user's skin or under a surface of the skin. The ophthalmic device and the auxiliary reference device interact with each other via a magnetic field, and the interaction is detected with one or more sensors of the ophthalmic device. In another embodiment, the ophthalmic device stores predetermined reference information which corresponds various magnetic field signal characteristics each with a different respective direction of gaze. Based on the sensor information and the reference information, a controller of the ophthalmic device determines a direction in which the eye of the user is gazing.
Contact lens with gaze tracking
An eye-mountable device includes an enclosure material, a sensor system, and a controller. The enclosure material has a first surface and a second surface. The first surface is configured to be removeably mounted over a cornea and the second surface is configured to be compatible with eyelid motion when the concave surface is so mounted. The sensor system is disposed within the enclosure material. The sensor system has at least one value that varies with changes in a gazing direction of the cornea. The controller is disposed within the enclosure material and electrically connected to the sensor system. The controller is configured to measure the value of the sensor system to detect the changes in the gazing direction.
Lens and eyewear
Provided is a lens that includes a lens body and an internal electrode at least a part of which is exposed to an outer edge part of the lens body. The lens is configured so that in the outer edge part of the lens body, the shape of a first region that includes an exposed part where the internal electrode is exposed and the shape of a second region that does not include the exposed part are different. This configuration makes it possible to provide a lens that can be easily attached to a frame.
Ophthalmic devices with stabilization features
This invention discloses methods and apparatus for forming Ophthalmic Lenses with Stabilizing Features, and more specifically, Ophthalmic Lenses that include an encapsulated Insert Device.
EYE MOUNTABLE DEVICE AND FLEXIBLE ASSEMBLY FOR FABRICATION THEREOF
Techniques and mechanisms for fabrication of an eye mountable device. In an embodiment, an apparatus includes two curved lens portions and a flexible arm structure that extends between, and is anchored to, each of the two curved lens portions. The eye mountable device is formed at least in part by manipulation of the curved lens portions using the arm structure. Flexibility of the arm structure accommodates positioning of one curved lens portion to overlap the other curved lens portion. A lens of the eye mountable device is formed by the curved lens portions. In another embodiment, an enclosure formed by the lens has disposed therein an accommodation actuator.
ACTIVE LENS ADAPTED FOR CORRECTING AN ABNORMAL REFRACTION OF AN EYE OF A WEARER
An ophthalmic lens intended to be worn in front of an eye of a wearer having a first optical function based on a prescription of the wearer for correcting an abnormal refraction of said eye of the wearer and comprising at least one activable optical element, wherein in a first state the at least one activable optical element contributes with the rest of the lens to focus the image of an object at distance on the retina, and in a second state the at least one activable optical element has a second optical function of not focusing an image on the retina of the eye of the wearer so as to slow down the progression of the abnormal refraction of the eye
Detection device for placement in contact with the eye of a user
A device for placement in contact with an eye of a user. The device includes at least one detector for measuring at least one property, and a signal processor for determining, based on the at least one property, whether the eye of the user is closed.
Ophthalmic lens integrating a disordered array, transparent active matrix
An ophthalmic lens including an active matrix including pixels, addressing rows serving to control the pixels, data columns serving to supply electrical power to pixels, and at least one transistor for each pixel. In the matrix of the ophthalmic lens: each row or column undulates continuously but non-periodically on either side of a theoretical straight addressing or data line connecting the two end terminals of the row or column.
