ELECTROCHROMIC DEVICE, OPTICAL FILTER, LENS UNIT, IMAGE PICKUP APPARATUS, WINDOW MEMBER, AND ELECTROCHROMIC MIRROR
The types and concentrations of multiple anodic electrochromic compounds are selected in such a manner that RG.sub.max is 1.37 or less, in which RG.sub.max is a maximum value among ratios between RGB signal ratios in the transmission state of an electrochromic device and in colored states of the anodic electrochromic compounds, the RGB signal ratios are obtained from T.sub.A(λ) and the sensitivity of a photodetector, and T.sub.A(λ) is a normalized variable transmittance obtained by a combination of absorptions of the anodic electrochromic compounds.
Counter electrode for electrochromic devices
The embodiments herein relate to electrochromic stacks, electrochromic devices, and methods and apparatus for making such stacks and devices. In various embodiments, an anodically coloring layer in an electrochromic stack or device is fabricated to include nickel-tungsten-niobium-oxide (NiWNbO). This material is particularly beneficial in that it is very transparent in its clear state.
ELECTROCHEMICAL GLAZING WITH LOW EMISSIVITY
A triple glazing unit is disclosed. The triple glazing unit can include a first pane, a second pane, a third pane between the first pane and the second pane, an electrochemical device coupled to the third pane and between the third pane and the second pane, a first cavity between the first pane and the third pane, and a second cavity between the second pane and the third pane, wherein a distance between the first pane and the third pane is greater than a distance between the second pane and the third pane.
MOISTURE RESISTANT ELECTROCHROMIC DEVICE
An electrochromic device is structured to restrict moisture permeation between an electrochromic stack in the device and an external environment. The electrochromic device includes conductive layers and one or more encapsulation layers, where the encapsulation layers and conductive layers collectively isolate the electrochromic stack from the ambient environment. The encapsulation layers resist moisture permeation, and at least the outer portions of the conductive layers resist moisture permeation. The moisture-resistant electrochromic device can be fabricated based at least in part upon selective removal of one or more outer portions of at least the EC stack, so that at least the encapsulation layer extends over one or more edge portions of the EC stack to isolate the edge portions of the EC stack from the ambient environment. The encapsulation layer can include one or more of an anti-reflective layer, infrared cut-off filter, etc.
Wearable Electro-Optical Device using Electrochromic Layer
Flexible plastic screen for glasses, sunglasses or helmet faceshields with controlled light transmission based on applied electrical voltage. The screen consists of two transparent flexible conductive polymer electrodes disposed and an electrochromic layer disposed between them. The electrochromic layer is a homogeneous mixture of active electrochromic components dissolved in a polymer matrix. The electrochromic screen is operable to vary the light transmission of any wearable electro-optical devices, such as the glasses, for creating an effect of a blackout for augmented/virtual reality glasses.
