A system and method for color correction in an electrochromic device includes applying a stepped voltage profile to the electrochromic device in a high-transmission state to achieve a desired low-transmission state. Each step of the stepped voltage profile is at a step difference of about 0.01 volts to about 0.5 volts from an adjacent step with each successive step being at a varying voltage level and each of the steps is held for a time period from about 0.1 seconds to about 10 seconds. At the desired low-transmission state, the system and method include applying a reverse bias voltage from about 0.01 volts to about 0.5 volts for about 0.01 seconds to about 10 seconds to color correct the low-transmission state.

Moisture resistant electrochromic device

An electrochromic device is structured to restrict moisture permeation between an electrochromic stack in the device and an external environment. The electrochromic device includes conductive layers and one or more encapsulation layers, where the encapsulation layers and conductive layers collectively isolate the electrochromic stack from the ambient environment. The encapsulation layers resist moisture permeation, and at least the outer portions of the conductive layers resist moisture permeation. The moisture-resistant electrochromic device can be fabricated based at least in part upon selective removal of one or more outer portions of at least the EC stack, so that at least the encapsulation layer extends over one or more edge portions of the EC stack to isolate the edge portions of the EC stack from the ambient environment. The encapsulation layer can include one or more of an anti-reflective layer, infrared cut-off filter, etc.

An electrochromic device having the adjustable reflectivity, and an electronic terminal comprising same. The electrochromic device comprises a first transparent substrate layer (1), an electrochromic stack (2), a metal ion stack (3), and a second substrate layer (4) which are stacked in sequence. The electrochromic stack (2) comprises a first transparent conductive layer (21) and a first electrochromic functional layer (22) which are stacked. The metal ion stack (3) comprises a second transparent conductive layer (31), a metal ion layer (32), and an electrodeposition suppression layer (33) which are stacked in sequence. The first electrochromic functional layer (22) is adjacent to the electrodeposition suppression layer (33). The visual effect of the electrochromic device is enhanced by the cooperation of the change in the transmittance of the electrochromic stack (2) and the change in the reflectivity of the metal ion stack (3).
