STEREO DISPLAY DEVICE
A stereo display device includes plural projectors, a lens array, and a concave axicon lens array. The projectors project images to plural viewing regions at an image side. The lens array is disposed between the projectors and the image side. The concave axicon lens array is disposed between the lens array and the image side.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CREATING WIDE-SCREEN PICTURE-DOMINANCE EFFECT IN A CONVENTIONAL MOTION-PICTURE THEATER
A system and method are disclosed for exhibiting wide-screen motion pictures, including in multiplex-style theaters, with an immersive, picture-dominance effect not previously obtainable in such theaters. The invention uses a zero-gain or nominal-gain curved screen to accommodate a wide-screen presentation, and a digital projector capable of delivering 14 to 22 foot-lamberts of light to the screen. The invention can support any theatrical aspect ratio for presentation, including the widest in use, 2.76:1. To eliminate image distortion, the invention uses warping software to correct the image for the geometry of the auditorium and the shape of the screen. This correction is established for every aspect ratio that will be accommodated in the auditorium in which the invention is installed, and aspect ratios can be changed to display content with different aspect ratios during a program.
Display device
A display device comprises a projection device projecting a display image, an aerial imaging element, and a distribution mechanism in which distribution units are arranged at a given interval. An interval between the distribution units is determined according to a relationship between a number of view point pixels constituting a pixel unit, a number of pixel units, a distance from the pixel unit at a center to the pixel unit at an edge, a distance from a distribution unit at a center to the distribution unit at an edge, a pitch of the view point pixel, an angle of light from the pixel unit at the center emitted to the distribution unit, and an angle of the emitted light, an angle of light from the pixel unit at the edge emitted to the distribution unit, and an angle of the emitted light, a distance between the projection device and the distribution units, a refractive index of the distribution mechanism, a distance between the real image and an optimal viewing position for a viewer, and a projection width.

IMMERSIVE THEATER
An immersive theater is provided having a screen oriented with respect to a pitched seating area to provide an immersive theater experience for all of the viewers. The theater can include a three-dimensional, concave shaped screen, defining a central axis that extends perpendicularly from the center point of the concave screen directed toward the seating area. The screen is oriented at a prescribed pitch angle (α) relative to the horizontal. The theater has a seating area having a plurality of seats for viewers and is set up in a stacked arrangement along a planar region and pitched at a prescribed angle (β). The seating area is further confined within a viewing area that is centered on the central axis of the screen.

Dual projection in short screen distance
A theatre system is described that includes a screen and a projection system. The projection system includes a first mirror and a second mirror that are positionable within axes for imaged light and between projection lenses of projectors and the screen. The axes include a first axis and a second axis. The first mirror and the second mirror are configured for causing the first axis and the second axis to be parallel to each other and to have a displacement between the first axis and second axis along a dimension by which the screen is curved.

CREATING THREE-DIMENSIONAL AERIAL IMAGES
A display for a computer system may be created by generating a three-dimensional image using a rotating helicoid. The helicoid may be formed by deforming a catenoid to form a helicoid. The helicoid may be supported by a pair of structures that do not occlude an image projected onto the helicoid nor occlude the user's ability to view the full extent of the image on the helicoid. The helicoid generated image may be transformed to an aerial floating image by a corner cube reflector array plate. Then depth sensing cameras may sense user interaction with the floating aerial image and may modify the image to make it appear that the user is actually modifying a physical object by manual manipulation.
