The feminine hygiene articles described herein can provide easily discernable placement and orientation guides which reduce the likelihood of misapplication by the user, facilitated attachment guides which can reduce the likelihood of misapplication of the feminine pad and can also reduce the likelihood of improper attachment of the feminine pad to a panty. The feminine hygiene articles disclosed include wings which can provide cues on proper attachment of the article to the panty, and wing adhesive distributed in a way which can provide sustained coverage of the feminine hygiene article to the panty which reduces the likelihood that the pad will become detached during use.

Fluid management layer for an absorbent article

A fluid management layer having a basis weight of between about 40 grams per square meter (gsm) and about 120 gsm is described. The fluid management layer has a plurality of absorbent fibers, a plurality of stiffening fibers and a plurality of resilient fibers, wherein the absorbent fibers are present at about 20 percent to about 75 percent by weight, and wherein the integrated, carded, staple fiber, nonwoven has a first side and a second side, and wherein there is a higher number of absorbent fibers on the first side or second side versus the other.

An AHP is disclosed having a topsheet, a backsheet joined with the topsheet, an absorbent core, disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet, and a poly(acrylic acid)-based superabsorbent polymer (SAP), partly derived from recycled resources. The SAP exhibits defined Saline Flow Conductivity and Absorption Against Pressure values. Methods for making the aforementioned AHP are also disclosed.

The present disclosure relates to methods for making elastomeric laminates that may be used as components of absorbent articles. The elastomeric laminates may include a first substrate, a second substrate, and an elastic material located between the first and second substrates. During assembly of an elastomeric laminate, a beam is rotated to unwind the elastic strands from the beam, wherein the strands may include a spin finish. First bonds are applied to bond discrete lengths of the stretched elastic strands with and between the first substrate and the second substrate, wherein the discrete first bonds are arranged intermittently along the machine direction. In addition, second bonds are applied between consecutive first bonds to bond the first and second substrates directly to each other, wherein the second bonds extend in the machine direction and may be separated from each other in a cross direction by at least one elastic strand.

Absorbent article with graphics printed in preservative-free ink, and methods of manufacture thereof

Absorbent articles having components bearing graphics printed using particular inkjet ink compositions and fluid sets are disclosed. The aqueous inkjet ink compositions may have a dynamic viscosity ≤5 centipoise (5 mPa-sec) at 25° C., and include: (a) a polymer-dispersed pigment colorant at 0.9-6 weight %; (b) a composition consisting of one or more compounds represented by the following Structure (I):
HO—CH.sub.2—CH.sub.2—R  (I)
wherein R may be a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group or a substituted or unsubstituted phenoxy group, at 0.5-2 weight %; and (c) a water-soluble humectant, co-solvents, or both, at 20 weight %. Each colorant may have a 50th percentile particle diameter ≤70 nm and a 95th percentile particle diameter ≤150 nm. Replenishment or maintenance fluids containing a Structure (I) compound may also be used. Methods for printing using the aqueous inkjet ink compositions and the fluid sets are also disclosed.

The present disclosure relates to homogeneous or heterogeneous polymer foam structures having a graphic printed thereon. As discussed herein, foam structures, such as for example High Internal Phase Emulsion (HIPE) foam structures may include a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface, and one or more graphics may be printed directly on the first and/or second surfaces of the foam. The graphic may comprise ink positioned on the first and/or second surface, wherein the ink may penetrate into the foam structure below the surface on which the ink is applied. As such, the ink may reside on the foam structure and/or within the foam structure at various depths below the first and/or second surface.
