A light emitting device includes: a base plate extending in a first direction; a plurality of light emitting units arranged over a front surface of the base plate while being shifted from each other in the first direction, and each including a support body extending in the first direction and a plurality of light sources supported on the support body while being arranged in the first direction; a flow path disposed on a side of the base plate opposite to a side facing the light emitting units to feed air therethrough in the first direction; and a wire electrically connected to at least one of the plurality of the light emitting units, and disposed inside the flow path.

An image forming apparatus includes a photoconductor, light emitting elements, a developing device, a fixing device, and a controller. The photoconductor is charged. The light emitting elements form light spots on the photoconductor in order to form an electrostatic latent image on the photoconductor, and are provided to have a first distance with each other in a main scanning direction. The developing device develops an electrostatic latent image on the photoconductor to a toner image. The fixing device fixes the toner image to a sheet. The controller causes the light emitting elements to form first light spots on the photoconductor, causes the photoconductor to move toward the light emitting elements by a second distance shorter than the first distance in a sub-scanning direction orthogonal to the main scanning direction, and causes the light emitting elements to form second light spots on the photoconductor.

In a configuration in which a metal holder is supported by a resin member, the metal holder cannot be grounded, so that electricity may be discharged from the charged holder to a substrate held by the holder. The holder is provided with a pin to determine a position of the holder with respect to a photosensitive member. A conductive member that is made of metal and is grounded, is brought into contact with the pin to thereby enable the holder to be grounded through the pin.

According to an embodiment, a signal generation circuit includes a generation unit configured to generate a second clock signal from division of a first clock signal and generate a timing signal with a cycle length that is a sum of a predetermined number of half-cycle periods of the second clock signal. A period changing unit of the signal generation circuit is configured to adjust the cycle length of the timing signal by changing a length of at least one half-cycle period of the second clock signal. An output unit of the signal generation circuit is configured to output the second clock signal and the timing signal.

An optical array includes a plurality of optical elements arrayed in a longitudinal direction of the optical array, each of the optical elements comprises a convex portion, a part of which is surrounded by a first groove, and a pair of flange sections between which the optical elements are arrayed. A second groove that communicates with the first groove of each optical element is formed on at least one of the flange sections.

A print head includes a light guide portion including a light blocking part having a lattice shape, and a plurality of light guide paths defined by the light blocking part, and a light emitting element array in which a plurality of organic EL elements emitting light incident to each light guide path are arranged. In the print head, the plurality of light guide paths of the light guide portion are designed to have an identical width of 30 m or less, and thus it is possible to reduce exposure unevenness which is one of exposure characteristics.

A cleaning member for use in an image forming apparatus and configured to be inserted into the apparatus, the apparatus comprising a holding body that holds a substrate and lenses, the cleaning member comprising a rod, a cleaning portion provided in the rod to clean a light emission surface of each lens, a magnet attached to the rod, the magnet emitting a magnetic field to generates a magnetic force to draw the holding body thereto so that the cleaning portion maintains contact with the light emission surface, a yoke member attached to the rod and in contact with the magnet. The yoke member is configured to protrude, with respect to the magnet, towards a side on which the holding body is disposed, and a contact portion that is configured to contact the holding body and that to protrude, with respect to the yoke member, towards the above side.

A cleaning member for use in an image forming apparatus and configured to be inserted into the apparatus, the apparatus comprising a holding body that holds a substrate and lenses, the cleaning member comprising a rod, a cleaning portion provided in the rod to clean a light emission surface of each lens, a magnet attached to the rod, the magnet emitting a magnetic field to generates a magnetic force to draw the holding body thereto so that the cleaning portion maintains contact with the light emission surface, a yoke member attached to the rod and in contact with the magnet. The yoke member is configured to protrude, with respect to the magnet, towards a side on which the holding body is disposed, and a contact portion that is configured to contact the holding body and that to protrude, with respect to the yoke member, towards the above side.

A cleaning member that is used in an image forming apparatus and that is inserted from outside the image forming apparatus, the apparatus including a holding body that holds a substrate on which light emitting elements that expose a photosensitive drum are aligned and that holds lenses, the cleaning member including a rod-shaped rhabdoid formed of resin, a cleaning portion provided in the rhabdoid to clean a light emission surface of each lens, the cleaning portion moving together with the rhabdoid inserted in the image forming apparatus and opposing the light emission surface in an optical axis direction of the lens, and a magnet provided on the rhabdoid, the magnet emitting magnetic force that generates force drawing the holding body thereto so that the cleaning portion continues to contact the light emission surface.

An image forming apparatus includes a photoconductor, a light emitting substrate, and imaging optical systems, wherein an optical axis of the imaging optical systems are parallel, imaging magnifications of the imaging optical systems are substantially equal for the light emitting point groups, the imaging optical systems includes a first lens array, a second lens array, and apertures, central points of the light emitting point group exist in a first plane, central points of the imaging lenses exist in a second plane, central points of the apertures exist in a third plane, central points of the imaging lenses exist in a fourth plane, the first plane forms a non-zero predetermined angle with respect to a plane perpendicular to an optical axis direction, and the angle formed with respect to the plane perpendicular to the optical axis direction is greater in the order of the first, second, third, and the fourth plane.
