Cartridge including photosensitive drum and developing roller that can be easily separated
A cartridge including: a first unit including an image bearing member and a first portion, and configured to take a removal posture when the cartridge is to be removed from a main body; a second unit including a developer bearing member and a second portion, the second unit being movable between a first position where the developer bearing member is in contact with the image bearing member and a second position where the developer bearing member is separated from the image bearing member and where the second portion is in contact with the first portion, wherein when the first unit takes the removal posture, the second unit is located at the second position, and when the second unit is located at the second position, movement of the second unit in a direction, in which the developer bearing member is separated from the image bearing member, is restricted.
Developing cartridge having electrode contactable with another electrode by pivot motion of the cartridge
A developing cartridge includes a casing having an outer surface, a developing roller, a first electrode, and a boss. The developing roller is movable together with the casing and includes a developing roller shaft extending along a first axis extending in a first direction. The developing roller is rotatable about the first axis. The first electrode is positioned at one end portion in the first direction of the developing roller shaft, and electrically connected to the developing roller shaft. The boss is positioned at one end portion in the first direction of the outer surface. The boss extends in the first direction and is engageable with the drum unit. A part of the first electrode is configured to contact with a second electrode of the drum unit as a result of pivotal movement of the developing cartridge about the boss relative to the drum unit.
Image forming apparatus with draw-out unit having electrical contact
An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus body including a control board, a draw-out unit including a photosensitive drum configured to bear a toner image and rotate about a rotation axis, a developing unit, and a unit contact, the developing unit including a developing roller and a memory, and a door configured to face the draw-out unit at a closed position. The door includes a door contact electrically connected to the control board. The draw-out unit includes a facing surface configured to face the door positioned at the closed position, and a grip portion provided at a center portion of the facing surface in an axial direction of the rotation axis. The unit contact is provided in a region outside an end surface of the grip portion in the axial direction and below the grip portion in a vertical direction.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes a developer bearing member, a supply member, first and second voltage application units, and a control unit. Assuming that a difference between a voltage to be applied to the developer bearing member by the first voltage application unit and a voltage to be applied to the supply member by the second voltage application unit in the image forming operation is defined as a first supply contrast, and a difference between the voltage to be applied to the developer bearing member by the first voltage application unit and the voltage to be applied to the supply member by the second voltage application unit in the preliminary rotation operation is defined as a second supply contrast, the control unit controls the second supply contrast to be less than the first supply contrast or to have polarity reversed from polarity of the first supply contrast.
DEVELOPING CARTRIDGE
A developing cartridge may include a developing roller, a casing capable of containing a developer therein, a developing electrode movable with the casing and the developing roller and pivotable about a developing roller shaft of the developing roller in a direction, a first lever movable relative to the casing, and a holder configured to hold the first lever relative to the casing, in case where the developing electrode pivots from one side of the direction to an other side of the direction, the first lever stops the pivotable movement of the developing electrode from one side of the direction to the other side of the direction and the holder prevents the first lever from coming off the holder from the one side of the direction to the other side of the direction.
COUPLING STRUCTURE FOR A DEVELOPING ROLLER OF AN IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes a development cartridge having a developing roller. The developing roller includes a roller body, and a shaft to pass through a central axis of the roller body. A coupling structure is disposed at an end part of the shaft, is movable from a first position to a second position, and includes a first coupling piece and a second coupling piece. Positions of the first coupling piece and the second coupling piece are maintained with respect to one another by a static frictional force between surfaces of the first coupling piece and the second coupling piece to hold the coupling structure in the first position. When a predetermined force overcomes the static frictional force, the first coupling piece and the second coupling piece disengage from one another to allow the coupling structure to move from the first position to the second position.
INTERNAL PRESSURE CONTROL AND COLLECTION OF SCATTERED DEVELOPER IN DEVELOPING DEVICE
A developing device includes a developer roller that is rotatable about an axis, to carry a developer to a development region; a rectifier member extending in a direction parallel to an axial direction of the developer roller. The rectifier member includes a developer collecting part that is spaced apart by a predetermined distance from a surface of the developer roller, and a rectifying part to guide air from within the developing device via the developer collecting part toward an upstream side of the development region, in a rotational direction of the developer roller.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus is used, including a rotary member, on which a developer image by a developer is formed, a collection unit for collecting the developer by a blade member from a surface of the rotary member, and a control unit for controlling an image forming operation on the surface of the rotary member and a supply operation for supplying the developer to a contact portion between the rotary member and the blade member, wherein, assuming that the supply operation for supplying the developer to inside of a printable area is a first supply operation and the supply operation for supplying the developer to outside the printable area is a second supply operation, the control unit controls such that the first supply operation and the second supply operation are performed at different timing.

A developing device has a developing roller facing a photoconductor drum, a feed roller, and a restriction blade. The feed roller forms a feed nip part with the developing roller by contacting with the circumferential surface of the developing roller, and collects toner from the developing roller while feeding the toner to the developing roller. The Asker-C hardness of the developing roller is in the range of 50 to 80, both inclusive, the width of the feed nip part is in the range of 0.2 to 1.5 mm, both inclusive, and a compressive load to be applied to the feed roller is in the range of 0.2 to 1.5N, both inclusive.
