A cartridge includes: a photosensitive drum; a drum cleaner for cleaning the photosensitive drum; a toner pipe for conveying collected toner; a toner container storing therein toner; and a developing device for supplying toner in the toner container to the photosensitive drum. The cartridge is detachably attachable to an image forming apparatus. The collected toner is toner removed from the photosensitive drum by the drum cleaner. The developing device includes a developing housing for storing therein toner supplied from the toner container and the collected toner conveyed by the toner pipe. The toner container has: a toner discharge port for discharging toner stored in the toner container; and a returned toner receiving port for receiving toner returned from the developing device. The developing housing has: a toner receiving port for receiving toner discharged from the toner discharge port; and a toner return port for returning toner to the toner container.

An image forming apparatus includes first and second conveying members arranged with an axial angle, for conveying toner in first and second containers, and a conveying driving portion. The conveying driving portion includes a motor, a first gear, a second gear, a third gear, a swing gear, an idle gear, and a fourth gear. The second gear is fixed coaxially with the rotary shaft of the second conveying member. The swing gear swings on the outer circumference of the first gear rotated by a motor and meshes selectively with one of the second and third gears. The idle gear meshes with the third and fourth gears. The fourth gear has an axial angle between its input and output shafts and is fixed coaxially with the rotary shaft of the first conveying member.

A drum cleaner cleans a circumferential surface of a photosensitive drum. A toner pipe allows passage of toner that is recovered from the drum cleaner to a toner container. The toner pipe has a discharge port configured to discharge toner in the toner pipe. The toner container includes a toner discharge port, a toner reception port, and a toner conveyor. The toner discharge port discharges toner in the toner container. The toner reception port receives toner discharged from the discharge port of the toner pipe. The toner conveyor conveys toner from the toner reception port toward the toner discharge port. A development housing includes a development reception port and a development discharge port. The development reception port receives toner discharged from the toner discharge port. The development discharge port discharges, to the toner pipe, toner that is retuned from the development housing to the toner container.

A toner container includes a container main body, a first conveyance member rotatably provided in the container main body, a first bearing hole rotatably supports a rotation shaft of the first conveyance member in a state where the rotation shaft of the first conveyance member passes through the first bearing hole and extends outside, and a first input joint provided on an end portion of a rotation shaft of the first conveyance member in an attachment portion side, and coupled with a first drive coupling portion of the attachment portion. The first drive coupling portion includes a plurality of engaging pieces. The first input joint includes a plurality of projection pieces configured to be respectively coupled with the plurality of engaging pieces. Among the plurality of projection pieces, at least one first piece is longer than the other second piece(s) in a projection direction of the projection shaft.

A toner container includes a container main body, a rotation member, a flat plate-like lid member, a rib member, and a film member. The rotation member is rotatably provided in the container main body and extends in a depth direction of the container main body. The lid member closes an opening portion of the container main body in the depth direction. The rib member is provided on an inner surface of the lid member in such a way as to be located adjacent to the rotation member with a predetermined gap from the rotation member, and positions the lid member with respect to the opening portion. The film member is attached to the housing of the container main body such that one surface of the film member contacts the rib member and an opposite surface of the film member contacts an outer circumferential surface of the rotation member.

A developing apparatus including: a first chamber including a first conveyance member conveying developer in a first direction; a second chamber including a second conveyance member having a conveyance portion conveying the developer in a second direction opposite to the first direction and a return conveyance portion provided downstream of the conveyance portion in the second direction to convey the developer in the first direction; a first partition wall provided between the first chamber and the second chamber to form a first communication portion and a second communication portion to form a circulation route; and a bearing member configured to rotatably support the second conveyance member and including: a discharge port provided downstream of the return conveyance portion; and a second partition wall extending from the bearing member in the first direction to cover a portion of the return conveyance portion confronting the first communication portion.

An image forming apparatus includes a main body that includes a photosensitive member on which an electrostatic latent image is formed and a development unit configured to develop the photosensitive member with toner. The main body is configured to discharge a recording material on which an image is formed with the toner onto a discharge tray. The image forming apparatus also includes a toner supply port on which a supply container is mounted to supply toner to a toner containing portion of the development unit. The image forming apparatus further includes a non-contact communication portion including an antenna and configured to receive a signal for user authentication. The discharge tray, the toner supply port, and the non-contact communication portion are provided at an upper portion of the main body. The non-contact communication portion is provided outside the discharge tray when the main body is viewed from above.

A cartridge attachable to and detachable from an image forming apparatus forming an image on a recording material, the cartridge includes: an image bearing member; a developer container that contains therein a developer; a developing member that is rotatable and carries the developer supplied from the developer container and supplies the developer to the image bearing member; a developer supplying member that is rotatable and provided in the developer container and in contact with the developing member to supply the developer to a surface of the developing member; and a contact member provided in the developer container and in contact with a surface of the developer supplying member, wherein the developer remaining on the image bearing member after image formation is collected to the developing member, and the developer collected to the developing member is collected into the developer container.

A developer supply container detachably mountable to a developer receiving apparatus and settable in a developer receiving apparatus by a setting operation including at least a rotation toward a setting position, includes a containing portion for containing the developer; a rotatable discharging member for discharging the developer out of said containing portion; drive transmitting means, engageable with a driving gear provided in said developer receiving apparatus and rotatable in a direction opposite the setting direction, for transmitting a rotating force from said driving gear to said discharging member.

An image forming apparatus including: an image forming portion that forms a toner image on a recording material; a fixing portion that has a heater unit including a heater and that fixes the toner image on the recording material, the heater being capable of changing a heat generating region; a control portion that controls the heater; and an image adding portion that adds a predetermined additional image to a desired image, wherein the control portion sets the heat generating region according to a width of the desired image in a direction perpendicular to the conveying direction or a width of the recording material in the direction perpendicular to the conveying direction, and the width of the predetermined additional image in the direction perpendicular to the conveying direction is equal to or less than the width of the heat generating region in the direction perpendicular to the conveying direction.
