An image forming apparatus includes an image forming portion configured to form a toner image on a recording material with a liquid developer containing a toner and a carrier liquid, wherein the carrier liquid contains a first substance for imparting an electrical polarity to the toner and a second substance, higher in volume resistivity than the first substance, as a dispersion medium for dispersing the toner; and a carrier separating device configured to separate the carrier liquid into the first substance charged to an opposite polarity to a charge polarity of the toner and the second substance by applying an electric field to the liquid developer collected from the image forming portion so as to collect each of the first substance and the second substance.

In one example, a method for calibrating a position of a charge roller is described. The method may include a processor positioning a first end of a charge roller to a first plurality of index positions, determining a capacitance between the charge roller and a photoconductor imaging plate at each of the first plurality of index positions, determining a first index position of the first plurality of index positions with a greatest change in capacitance, and calibrating a position of the charge roller based upon the first index position.

A photo drum may be to receive a color separation. A controller may be to change a location of the color separation on the photo drum from a first location to a second location when a separation location history for the color separation is outside of a threshold range.

An image processing apparatus that is capable of performing image formation on recording sheets, by switchingly using decoloring toner and normal toner. The number of sheets printed with the decoloring toner and the number of sheets printed with the normal toner are counted with respect to the recording sheets on a user-by-user basis. A use ratio of a logged-in user who has logged in the image processing apparatus is acquired, which indicates a ratio of the number of sheets printed with the decoloring toner to a total number of the number of sheets printed with the decoloring toner and the number of sheets printed with the normal toner based on the count. In a case where the use ratio is equal to or lower than a first threshold value, a notification for recommending printing using the decoloring toner is provided to the logged-in user.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit configured to form an image with toner, a halftone processor configured to convert image data by performing halftone processing, a first determining unit configured to determine a first toner consumption amount for each page based on the image data, a second determining unit configured to determine a second toner consumption amount for each page based on the converted image data, a print percentage calculator configured to calculate a print percentage for one page based on the first toner consumption amount, a notifying unit configured to notify a remaining amount of the toner of the image forming unit based on the first toner consumption amount of a page of which the print percentage is larger than a threshold and the second toner consumption amount of a page of which the print percentage is equal to or smaller than the threshold.

A liquid supply device and an image forming apparatus in which the maintenance of a concentration detecting device is improved are obtained. The liquid supply device includes a flow passage through which liquid to be imparted to paper flows; a case including an inlet that is fixed to the flow passage and introduces a liquid from the flow passage, and an outlet that leads the liquid out to the flow passage; and a concentration detecting device that is openably and closably or attachably and detachably attached to the case and includes a detection unit, which detects the concentration of the liquid, at a position that faces the case.

A measurement apparatus for determining a measure for the solid content of a liquid toner. The liquid toner includes a carrier liquid with marking particles, and the solid content is the ratio of the mass of the marking particles divided by the mass of the liquid toner. The measurement apparatus includes a measurement space for receiving liquid toner. The measurement space includes at least one hydrostatic pressure sensor configured and arranged for measuring data representative for the hydrostatic pressure caused by the liquid toner at least one predetermined position in the measurement space. An image forming apparatus includes: a waste toner collection path through which waste toner is collected; a motor that drives a conveyance member provided in the waste toner collection path; and a processor that acquires a phase-to-phase voltage which is at least one in-phase voltage of the motor, and detects a sign of toner clogging in the waste toner collection path, based on a variation in the phase-to-phase voltage.

A supply member of this wet type image forming apparatus has a surface rotating in a direction the same as a surface of a developer carrier at the same peripheral velocity at a portion abutting to the developer carrier.
