Image forming apparatus and method using UV light and toner with UV absorber

An image forming method uses a toner including toner particles including a binder resin and an ultraviolet light absorber. Content of the ultraviolet light absorber is within a range of 0.1 to 50 mass % with respect to total mass of the toner particles. The method includes: transferring a toner image formed with the toner on a recording medium; and irradiating the toner image transferred on the recording medium with monochromatic light having a maximum emission wavelength within a wavelength range of 280 to 550 nm to melt and fix the toner image.

A developing roller which is rotatable while carrying a liquid developer containing toner and a carrier liquid and which contains an electroconductive agent, a squeeze roller provided in contact with the developing roller through at least the carrier liquid, a voltage source capable of generating a potential difference between the developing roller and a squeeze roller, a current detecting sensor for detecting a current passed between the developing roller and the squeeze roller, a controller capable of controlling the voltage source, and a display device capable of outputting information on a lifetime of the developing roller are provided, and the controller outputs the information on the lifetime from the display device on the basis of a detection result by the current detecting sensor (steps S5 to S8) when a predetermined potential difference is generated between the developing roller and the squeeze roller by the voltage source (steps S2, S4).

TRANSFERRING PRINT AGENT IN PRINT APPARATUS

In one example of the disclosure, it is determined that an amount of print agent remaining in a print agent container of a print apparatus is below a threshold level. An amount of print solution is transferred from a print solution reservoir of the print apparatus, or an amount of print solution solvent is transferred from a solvent reservoir of the print apparatus, into the print agent container. At least some of the remaining print agent is caused to dissolve into the amount of print solution or print solution solvent to forma rinse solution. The rinse solution is transferred from the print agent reservoir to the print solution reservoir.

Multiple images on photo drums

A photo drum may be to receive a color separation. A controller may be to change a location of the color separation on the photo drum from a first location to a second location when a separation location history for the color separation is outside of a threshold range.

Charge roller positioning

In one example, a method for calibrating a position of a charge roller is described. The method may include a processor positioning a first end of a charge roller to a first plurality of index positions, determining a capacitance between the charge roller and a photoconductor imaging plate at each of the first plurality of index positions, determining a first index position of the first plurality of index positions with a greatest change in capacitance, and calibrating a position of the charge roller based upon the first index position.

In a case that a toner concentration of a liquid developer in a mixer is high and a liquid amount is small, when a supply flow rate of a carrier liquid by a carrier supplying pump is set (S38), a carrier amount for concentration adjustment is preferentially assigned (S33 or S35). Then, a remaining one is assigned to a carrier amount for liquid amount adjustment (S36). By doing so, by a non-interacting function, a supply agent to be supplied to the mixer can be made less than a conventional case. That is, the carrier liquid can be supplied by decreasing the supply agent more than the conventional case, so that a liquid amount can be easily satisfied while improving followability of a toner concentration.
