Image forming apparatus having dual operation
An image forming apparatus includes a cartridge including an abutting portion and an apparatus main body. The apparatus main body includes a mounting portion of the cartridge, a fixing portion for fixing the toner image, an attachable/detecting mechanism of the cartridge, a shutter, and a moving member. The attachable/detecting mechanism includes an acting member movable between a first position and a second position by the mounting of the cartridge. The shutter is movable between a closed position and an open position, and a moving member moves both the shutter and the acting member and includes an abutted portion. When the cartridge is moved, the moving member is moved by abutment of the abutting portion of the cartridge with the abutted portion, the acting member moves from the first position to the second position, and the shutter moves from the closed position to the open position.
CLEANING MEMBER CONTROL BASED ON INFORMATION DETECTED BY PAPER DETECTION SENSOR
An image forming apparatus includes a detection sensor to irradiate light to a recording medium passing through a printing path, and detect an amount of light, a driving device to move a cleaning member to a cleaning region overlapping the printing path to clean a light window of the detection sensor, and a processor to confirm a position of the cleaning member based on the amount of light detected by the detection sensor and control the driving device to move the cleaning member based on the confirmed position.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus main body, a process cartridge, a scanner unit, and a toner cartridge. The process cartridge is detachably mounted on the apparatus main body. The process cartridge includes: a photosensitive drum configured to rotate about a rotational axis extending in a first direction; and a development unit configured to supply toner to the photosensitive drum. The toner cartridge is configured to store toner. At least part of the photosensitive drum, at least part of the scanner unit, and at least part of the toner cartridge are aligned in a second direction in this order. The second direction is perpendicular to both the first direction and to a vertical direction. The at least part of the photosensitive drum, the at least part of the scanner unit, and the at least part of the toner cartridge overlap one another as viewed from the second direction.
Developing cartridge including inclined surface movable together with casing and developing roller relative to photosensitive drum
The developing cartridge includes a casing, a developing roller, and a first inclined surface. The first inclined surface is positioned at an outer surface of one end portion of the casing in the second direction. The first inclined surface is fixed to the casing and is inclined relative to the first direction. The first inclined surface is movable in the first direction relative to the photosensitive drum between a first position and a second position together with the casing and the developing roller in a state where the developing cartridge 1 is attached to a drum cartridge. In a state where the first inclined surface is at the first position, the developing roller is in contact with the photosensitive drum. In a state where the first inclined surface is at the second position, the developing roller is in separation from the photosensitive drum.
Storage component disassembly tooling
Discloses herein is a storage component disassembly tooling, for disassembling a storage component on a process cartridge. The process cartridge has a housing and a storage component mounting bracket on the housing for supporting the storage component. The storage component disassembly tooling has a drilling portion and a positioning portion. The positioning portion positions the storage component disassembly tooling on the housing of the process cartridge. The drilling portion moves relative to the positioning portion to destroy at least a part of the storage component mounting bracket.
Cartridge and electrophotographic image forming apparatus
In a cartridge structure employing an inclinable coupling member engaging with a rotational force transmitting portion of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus, the coupling member is unable to engage with the rotational force transmitting portion of the electrophotographic image forming apparatus when the mounting and dismounting direction and the developing/spacing direction relative to the electrophotographic image forming apparatus of different from each other. Under the circumstances, a coupling lever contacting and retracting relative to the coupling member in interrelation with the mounting and dismounting operation of a developing cartridge B1, and a coupling spring for the coupling lever to apply an urging force to the coupling member are provided.
Image forming apparatus having a drawer
An image forming apparatus is provided, including a housing; a drum cartridge; a developing cartridge; a drawer movable between an inner position and an outer position; and a lock member provided on the drawer and movable between a lock position at which the lock member locks the drum cartridge to the drawer, and a release position at which a lock between the drum cartridge and the drawer is released. The lock member includes an operation portion for moving the lock member between the lock position and the release position. The developing cartridge includes a cover member that covers at least a portion of the operation portion in a state in which the drum cartridge is mounted to the drawer, and the developing cartridge is mounted to the drum cartridge.
PROCESS CARTRIDGE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A process cartridge is detachably mountable to a main assembly of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus. The cartridge includes an electrophotographic photosensitive drum, a developing roller, a drum unit containing the drum, a developing unit containing the roller and being movable so the roller contacts and is spaced from the drum, and a first force receiver receiving a force from a main-assembly first force applier by movement of a door from open to closed positions when mounting the cartridge and a second force receiver movable from a stand-by position by movement of the first force receiver by a force received from the first force applier. The second force receiver takes a projected position receiving a force from the second force applier to move the developing unit so the roller moves out of contact with the drum, the projected position being higher than the stand-by position.
CASSETTE DRAWING-IN DEVICE
A cassette drawing-in device includes a guide portion to guide a pin protruding from a paper feed cassette, a first member in which the guide portion is formed, a second member facing the first member, a first rotation shaft, a first link rotationally supported by the first rotation shaft, a second rotation shaft provided on the first link, a second link rotationally supported by the second rotation shaft and including an engagement groove which engages the pin and slides on the pin in a direction intersecting the moving direction of the pin, and a rib on one or both of the first member and the second member. The rib slides on a side surface of the second link within a range of movement of the second link that accompanies the rotation of the first link about the first rotation shaft.
Cartridge
A cartridge includes a frame and a photosensitive drum rotatably supported by the frame. An opening is provided in the cartridge, with toner removed from the photosensitive drum being discharged to outside of the cartridge through the opening. A discharging passageway is provided in fluid communication with the opening and through which toner can move to the opening. A coupling member is provided inside the discharging passageway, with the coupling member including a projection at an end of the coupling member, and the coupling member being movable along the discharging passageway between a first position and a second position.
