A sheet stacking apparatus includes a sheet stacking unit having a stacking surface on which a sheet is stacked, a sheet regulating unit, and an opposed member. The sheet regulating unit includes a main body having a regulating surface which regulates a position of the sheet and being movable with respect to the sheet stacking unit, and an operating portion movably supported on a top of the main body and having a pressure surface. The operating portion is movable from a first position to a second position by performing a pressing operation on the pressure surface. The main body is prevented from moving when the operating portion is in the first position, and is allowed to move when the operating portion is in the second position. The opposed member is removably supported on the main body and opposed to at least a part of the pressure surface and an upper surface of the operating portion.

A container member includes a container body that contains a recording medium and that tilts with respect to a horizontal direction such that a leading edge of the contained recording medium is higher than a trailing edge, a trailing edge restriction portion that comes into contact with the trailing edge of the recording medium that is contained in the container body in a front-rear direction of the recording medium and that restricts a position of the trailing edge of the recording medium, and a restriction portion that restricts movement of the trailing edge in a thickness direction of the recording medium that is contained in the container body.

A sheet cassette includes a first trailing edge regulator integrally formed with a cassette frame to regulate a position of a trailing edge of a first sized sheet in a feeding direction, and a second trailing edge regulator integrally formed with the cassette frame to regulate a position of a trailing edge of a sheet of a second size stored in the cassette frame in the feeding direction. A pair of side edge regulation members regulate positions of side edges of the sheet of the first size stored in the cassette frame in the width direction at a first position and regulate positions of side edges of the sheet of the second size stored in the cassette frame in the width direction at a second position.

According to an embodiment, an image processing apparatus includes a detector, a heater, and a controller. The detector detects an image formed on a sheet. The heater applies a predetermined heat amount onto the sheet to carry out erasing processing on the sheet. The controller controls, based on a detection result of the detector, the number of times the erasing processing is to be carried out on the sheet and a heat amount to be applied onto the sheet in the erasing processing.

An image forming apparatus includes an exterior housing, an image forming unit in the exterior housing, the image forming unit, to form an image on a sheet, a scanner to read the image on a document, a first region in the exterior housing, the image forming unit being disposed in the first region in view from a front side of the exterior housing, a second region arranged side by side with the first region in a lateral direction in the exterior housing in view from the front side of the exterior housing, the scanner being disposed in the second region, and an opening defining a space in a front face of the exterior housing. The opening extends across the first region and the second region in a lower part of the exterior housing below the image forming unit and the scanner.

An image forming apparatus includes a selection unit configured to select a sheet type, an image processing unit configured to perform image processing on image data, based on a correction condition that corresponds to the selected sheet type, a conveyance unit configured to convey a sheet, and an image forming unit configured to form an image on the sheet, based on the image data, wherein the image processing unit performs the image processing on the image data, based on a first correction condition that corresponds to a sheet to be conveyed by the conveyance unit in a first direction, and wherein the image processing unit performs the image processing on the image data, based on a second correction condition that corresponds to a sheet to be conveyed by the conveyance unit in a second direction, the second direction being different from the first direction.

An image forming apparatus includes a housing, an attachable and detachable device, a cover member, and a rotation angle restricting member. The housing has an opening and an attachment section. The attachable and detachable device is attachable to and detachable from an inside of the housing via the opening. The cover member is rotatably supported by the housing and closes or opens the opening. The rotation angle restricting member restricts an allowable rotation angle that indicates an angle at which the cover member is rotatable. The rotation angle restricting member is attachable to and detachable from the attachment section. The allowable rotation angle of the cover member is restricted when the rotation angle restricting member is attached to the attachment section. Restriction of the allowable rotation angle of the cover member is released when the rotation angle restricting member is detached from the attachment section.

An image forming apparatus includes: a manual feed tray that is provided at an opening in a sidewall of an apparatus body of the image forming apparatus and opens or closes the opening by an opening/closing operation; a guide portion that supports movement of the manual feed tray based on the opening/closing operation between a first position where the manual feed tray is upright along the sidewall to close the opening and a second position where the manual feed tray inclines toward outside of the apparatus body to open the opening, and guides the manual feed tray in the second position from the opening to within the apparatus body to retract the manual feed tray within the apparatus body; a sheet feed mechanism that feeds a sheet on the retracted manual feed tray; and an image forming device that forms an image on the sheet fed from the manual feed.

A sheet stacking apparatus includes: a sheet stacking unit having a stacking surface on which a sheet is stacked; a sheet regulating unit including: a main body having a regulating surface which regulates a position of the sheet and being movable with respect to the sheet stacking unit; and an operating portion movably supported on a top of the main body and having a pressure surface, the operating portion being moved from a first position to a second position by performing a pressing operation on the pressure surface, the main body being regulated from moving when the operating portion is in the first position, and the main body being allowed to move when the operating portion is in the second position; and an opposed member removably supported on the main body and opposed to at least a part of the pressure surface and an upper surface of the operating portion.
