Solenoid device and image forming apparatus therewith
A solenoid device has a solenoid and a control portion. The solenoid has a body, a plunger, an attracting coil, a retaining coil, and a biasing member. The plunger is arranged selectively either in an attracted position, pulled into the body, or in a returning position, protruding out of the body. Fed with a voltage, the attracting coil generates an attracting force causing the plunger to move from returning position to attracted position. Fed with a voltage, the retaining coil generates a retaining force, weaker than the attracting force, causing the plunger to move to attracted position. The biasing member biases the plunger toward returning position. The control portion controls operation of the solenoid. When moving the plunger from returning position to attracted position, the control portion first starts applying the voltage to the retaining coil and then starts applying the voltage to the attracting coil.

An image forming apparatus includes a process unit configured to form a toner image on a sheet, a fuser configured to heat the sheet passed through the process unit thereby fixing the toner image onto the sheet, a re-conveyor configured to convey the sheet passed through the fuser to the process unit, and a controller configured to perform particular duplex printing including controlling, when a temperature of the fuser is a first temperature, the re-conveyor to convey the sheet passed through the fuser to the process unit in a first period of time, and controlling, when the temperature of the fuser is a second temperature higher than the first temperature, the re-conveyor to convey the sheet passed through the fuser to the process unit in a second period of time longer than the first period of time.
Printer
A printer includes an image forming unit configured to form an image on a sheet by an electrophotographic method, and a recording unit configured to record an image on a sheet by an inkjet method. An image recording position of the recording unit is located above an image forming position of the image forming unit.
Image forming apparatus with a particularly arranged duct for supplying air
An image forming apparatus includes a fixing portion, a conveyance path, a roller pair, and a duct. The roller pair includes a first roller and a second roller, the first roller and the second roller being configured to nip a sheet conveyed in the conveyance path to cool the sheet. The duct is provided to extend in a width direction orthogonal to a sheet conveyance direction. The duct includes a ventilation path forming portion and an opening portion continuous with the ventilation path forming portion and facing the conveyance path, the ventilation path forming portion being disposed to face a side of the roller pair opposite to a nip of the roller pair across a center line of the first roller and configured to form a ventilation path configured to allow air to pass therethrough between the first roller and the ventilation path forming portion.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, AND METHOD AND COMPUTER-READABLE MEDIUM FOR THE SAME
An image forming apparatus includes a process unit configured to form a toner image on a sheet, a fuser configured to heat the sheet passed through the process unit thereby fixing the toner image onto the sheet, a re-conveyor configured to convey the sheet passed through the fuser to the process unit, and a controller configured to perform particular duplex printing including controlling, when a temperature of the fuser is a first temperature, the re-conveyor to convey the sheet passed through the fuser to the process unit in a first period of time, and controlling, when the temperature of the fuser is a second temperature higher than the first temperature, the re-conveyor to convey the sheet passed through the fuser to the process unit in a second period of time longer than the first period of time.
Image forming apparatus that detects an image on a sheet while sheet conveyance is stopped
An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit configured to form an image on a sheet, a reversing unit configured to convey a sheet conveyed from the image forming unit in a first direction, stop the conveyance, and then convey the sheet in a second direction, which is opposite to the first direction, an image detection unit disposed to detect at least a portion of the image on the sheet stopped by the reversing unit, and a control unit configured to control the reversing unit and the image detection unit. The control unit is configured to detect the image on the sheet by the image detection unit while the sheet conveyance is stopped by the reversing unit.
Image forming apparatus and method to form an invisible image and a visible image in a multi-pass simplex manner
An image forming apparatus includes an image forming device that forms an image on a recording medium and circuitry that controls the image forming device. The image forming device forms an invisible image with an invisible material on the recording medium and forms a visible image with a visible material on the invisible image. Each of first and second adhesion amounts includes respective adhesion amounts of the visible material and the invisible material per unit area in a portion, in which the visible image is formed on the invisible image, of the composite image. The second adhesion amount is smaller than the first adhesion amount. The controller adjusts the amount of the invisible material included in the second adhesion amount to be smaller than that included in the first adhesion amount, to cause the image forming device to form the image according to the second adhesion amount.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS FOR ADJUSTING POSITION AND SIZE OF IMAGE
An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming unit configured to form an adjustment pattern on a sheet; a reading device provided further downstream than a fixing member in a conveyance direction, and configured to read the sheet on which the adjustment pattern has been fixed by the fixing member; and a processor configured to: detect a length, in the conveyance direction, of the sheet; and adjust a position, in the conveyance direction, and a size, in the conveyance direction, of an image to be formed on the sheet by the image forming unit, based on a reading result obtained by the reading device reading the sheet and the detected length.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A movable chute is located downstream of a transfer unit and upstream of a fuser in a first direction. A downstream end of the movable chute located at a second position is farther from a sheet conveyance path than the downstream end of the movable chute located at a first position. A reconveyance chute forms a reconveyance path of a sheet that is reconveyed from the fuser toward the transfer unit. The reconveyance path is located between the movable chute and the reconveyance chute in a sheet thickness direction. The movable chute has a sheet conveyance surface and a first reconveyance surface. The sheet conveyance surface guides the sheet that is conveyed from the transfer unit toward the fuser along the sheet conveyance path. The first reconveyance surface faces opposite to the sheet conveyance surface in the sheet thickness direction. The first reconveyance surface forms the reconveyance path.
