Print indicia for skew correction
According to examples, an apparatus may include a processor and a memory on which are stored machine-readable instructions that when executed by the processor, may cause the processor to print a first indicia at a first region on a first side of a print medium. The instructions may also cause the processor to print a second indicia at a second region on the first side of the print medium, in which the second region may be spaced a prescribed distance from the first region along a first edge of the print medium. In some examples, a relative position of the first indicia to the second indicia may correlate to a skew correction value for the first edge of the print medium.

A loop detection unit including a first contact portion in contact with a back surface of the recording material. A residual sheet detection unit including a second contact portion that is configured to come into contact with the back surface of the recording material. The first contact portion and the second contact portion are configured to rotate on the same rotation shaft. The second contact portion is configured to come into contact with the back surface of the recording material on a downstream of the first contact portion in the conveyance direction of the recording material.

The hardware processor causes a detector that detects an edge of the sheet in the width direction to detect the edge of the sheet after displacement of the sheet conveying member has been started, and causes the displacement to be terminated on the basis of the detected result such that the edge of the sheet reaches a target position.
BELT CONVEYANCE DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
The belt conveyance device includes a plurality of rollers, a belt, a meandering correction part, and an adjustment part. The rollers are disposed at intervals each other and rotate around axes. The belt is disposed around the plurality of rollers and travels. The meandering correction part shifts one end portion in an axial direction of a tension roller included in the plurality of rollers in a radial direction within a predetermined range to correct a meandering of the belt. The adjustment part shifts the other end portion in the axial direction of the tension roller in the radial direction such that a position of the one end portion of the tension roller is variable under a state where the meandering of the belt is corrected.

A sheet conveying device, which is incorporated in an image forming apparatus, includes a first detector to detect an angle deviation of a recording medium to a sheet conveying direction, a second detector to detect a lateral shift of the recording medium to a width direction, a third detector to detect at least one of the angle deviation and the lateral shift after correction of the angle deviation detected by the first detector and the lateral shift detected by the second detector, and a rotary body to perform a primary movement by (1) rotating in the sheet conveying direction and returning to a reference position and by (2) moving in the width direction and returning to the reference position, and a secondary movement by performing at least one of (1) and (2) after the primary movement.
Image forming apparatus that increases a sheet feeding interval when oblique sheet movement is detected
An image forming apparatus for forming an image on a recording material. The image forming apparatus includes an image forming portion, a fixing portion, an oblique movement detecting portion, and a controller. The image forming portion is configured to form the image on the recording material. The fixing portion includes a flexible cylindrical rotatable member and a roller in press contact with the rotatable member. The rotatable member and the roller are configured to form a fixing nip, in which the recording material, on which the image is formed, is nipped and fed. The oblique movement detecting portion is configured to detect oblique movement of the recording material. When the oblique movement detecting portion detects the oblique movement of the recording material, the controller increases a feeding interval of the recording material to the image forming portion.
ALIGNMENTS OF MEDIA USING MULTIPLE PASSES
An example of apparatus to align media. The apparatus includes a printer assembly to form markings a first side of a media. The apparatus also includes a sensor to detect a backside pattern on each pass at multiple locations. The apparatus includes a processor in communication with the sensor. The processor is to compare the backside pattern measured on multiple passes to determine offset amounts. The apparatus also includes a controller to adjust the media relative to the printer assembly based on the offset values.

An image forming apparatus includes a first plurality of image forming sections that form a first toner image for adjustment and transfer the first toner image for adjustment to a medium; a second plurality of image forming sections that form a second toner image for adjustment and transfer the second toner image for adjustment to the medium; and a detection device configured to detect a misregistration between the first toner image for adjustment transferred to the medium and the second toner image for adjustment transferred to the medium.
Reading device and image forming apparatus
A reading device is configured to detect an edge position of a target object to be conveyed in a conveyance direction. The edge position is a position of an edge of the object in a width direction intersecting the conveyance direction. The reading device includes a sensor device, an adder, and an edge position detector. The sensor device includes a pixel array including a plurality of elements arranged in the width direction. The adder is configured to add detection signals output from the elements at respective positions in the width direction. The edge position detector is configured to detect the edge position on basis of a position at which an output of the adder changes to a value larger than a threshold. Each element is configured to output a detection signal based on a reception amount of light in one of different wavelength bands.

An image forming apparatus includes a first plurality of image forming sections that form a first toner image for adjustment and transfer the first toner image for adjustment to a medium; a second plurality of image forming sections that form a second toner image for adjustment and transfer the second toner image for adjustment to the medium; and a detection device configured to detect a misregistration between the first toner image for adjustment transferred to the medium and the second toner image for adjustment transferred to the medium.
