A measurement apparatus includes a sheet stacking portion provided above a first conveyance path and on which a second sheet discharged out of a second conveyance path is stacked. The sheet stacking portion includes an extension tray configured to support the sheet discharged out of the second conveyance path and to be movable between a first position and a second position, the first position being a position where the extension tray is located inside a width of the measurement apparatus in the horizontal direction, and the second position being a position where the extension tray is located above an upstream apparatus and is overlapped with the upstream apparatus when viewed in a gravity direction.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming device, an image position detector, and an image density detector. The image forming device forms an image on a surface of a recording medium. The image position detector detects a position of the image. The image density detector detects a density of the image. The image forming device forms a position detection image on a surface of a first recording medium. The image position detector detects a position of the position detection image on the surface of the first recording medium. The image forming device forms a density detection image on a second recording medium. The image density detector detects a density of the density detection image on the surface of the second recording medium.

An image forming apparatus which prevents a user from being confused when print data comprised of a plurality of sections is printed by the image forming apparatus. The image forming apparatus is able to perform test printing of print data for which a plurality of copies are to be printed. Whether or not a plurality of sections are included in selected print data is determined, and when it is determined that a plurality of sections are included in the selected print data, execution of the test printing is restricted.

An image forming apparatus includes a printing device to perform normal printing of a job according to a setting, and processing circuitry to: accept a request for executing printing of another job while the printing device is performing the normal printing of the job according to the setting; when the request for executing printing of another job is a request for executing trial printing, control the printing device to interrupt the normal printing of the job to perform the trial printing of the another job; and control an ejection device to discharge a recording medium printed in the normal printing of the job and a recording medium printed in the trial printing of the another job on different sheet discharge trays.

An image forming apparatus comprises a conveying member configured to convey paper along a paper path, an image reading unit configured to read a surface of the paper conveyed by the conveying member along the paper path, and a color sample member. The conveying member, the image reading unit, and the color sample member have a first arrangement in which the image reading unit reads the surface of the paper conveyed by the conveying member along the paper path. The conveying member, the image reading unit, and the color sample member have a second arrangement in which the image reading unit reads the color sample member. The conveying member is configured to change the paper path in front of the image reading unit for switching from the first arrangement to the second arrangement.

In one example of the disclosure, a first print engine is caused to print a first image in a first set of sectors of a substrate. A second print engine is caused to print a second image in a second set of sectors of the substrate. The second print engine is caused to print a cover-up image over an incidence of the first image printed by the first print engine. The second print engine is caused to print a calibration image upon the cover-up image.

A test chart is obtained by printing a test chart image using an image forming apparatus for skew measurement of the image forming apparatus. The test chart includes a first scale image that includes a scale along a secondary scanning direction and a second scale image that includes a scale along the secondary scanning direction. The first and second scale images are arranged along a primary scanning direction. When a top-end part of the test chart is folded back, a top end of the test chart indicates different values from each other on the first and second scale images in accordance with a skew angle.

An image forming apparatus includes an image former that forms and fixes an image of the adjustment chart on the sheet, an image reader that reads the adjustment chart formed on the sheet, a front and back adjuster that performs the front and back adjustment on a basis of the adjustment chart that is formed and fixed by the image former and read by the image reader, an image coverage rate calculator that calculates in advance an image coverage rate of the sheet included in one job to be executed by the image former, and a chart coverage rate determiner that determines a coverage rate of the adjustment chart to be formed on a front side of the sheet on a basis of the image coverage rate calculated by the image coverage rate calculator.

A sheet discharged out of an image forming apparatus is conveyed toward a downstream apparatus through the first conveyance path. The second conveyance path is branched from the first conveyance path, extended below the first conveyance path, and merged with the first conveyance path. The measuring portion is disposed on the second conveyance path. The third conveyance path is provided above the first conveyance path and is configured to convey the sheet from which a test image has been measured by the measuring portion in the second conveyance path. The sheet stacking portion is provided above the first conveyance path, and the sheet discharged out of the third conveyance path is stacked on the sheet stacking portion.
