Image forming apparatus, image forming method, and non-transitory recording medium which performs adjustment of image formation based on adjusted sheet size
An image forming apparatus may include: a sheet storage that may store a sheet; a first sheet sensor that may determine a sheet size of the sheet stored in the sheet storage; a feeder that may feed the sheet from the sheet storage to a transport path based on the sheet size determined by the first sheet sensor; an image former that may form an image on the sheet fed to the transport path; a second sheet sensor that may (i) be provided downstream of the image former on the transport path, (ii) read the sheet in the transport path, and (iii) adjust the sheet size of the sheet; and a hardware processor that may perform adjustment of image formation on the sheet based on the sheet size adjusted by the second sheet sensor.
Image forming apparatus that adjusts image forming area based on read test image
Provided is an image forming apparatus including a printer controller configured to form an image on a sheet, a storage unit configured to store a plurality of adjustment conditions for adjusting a position on the sheet at which the image is to be formed, and a CPU. The CPU selects one of the plurality of adjustment conditions, adjusts the position at which the image is to be formed based on the selected adjustment condition, and causes the printer controller to form the image on the sheet.
SHEET CONVEYANCE DEVICE AND PROGRAM FOR SHEET CONVEYANCE DEVICE
A sheet conveying apparatus of an embodiment includes a conveyance path along which a sheet can be conveyed, and a plurality of conveyance rollers configured to move a sheet along the conveyance path. A wireless tag reader/writer is configured to read information from, and write information to, a wireless tag of a sheet on the conveyance path. A phase change detector is configured to detect a phase change in response waves received by the wireless tag reader/writer from a wireless tag. A tag specifying unit is configured to identify whether a wireless tag is moving along the conveyance path based on the detected phase change in response waves from the wireless tag. A controller controls the wireless tag reader/writer to write information to the wireless tag identified as moving along the conveyance path.
Image forming apparatus including a plurality of heat generating elements
An image forming apparatus is operable in a first small-sheet printing mode in which power is supplied to a first heat generating element and a second heat generating element and in a second small-sheet printing mode in which power is supplied to the first heat generating element and a third heat generating element. A first power ratio, which is a proportion of power supplied to the first heat generating element to power supplied to the second heat generating element in the first small-sheet printing mode, is higher than a second power ratio, which is a proportion of power supplied to the first heat generating element to power supplied to the third heat generating element in the second small-sheet printing mode.
Image reading device and image forming apparatus incorporating same
An image reading device includes a plurality of image reading units arranged at different positions in a width direction perpendicular to a conveyance direction of a recording medium to read an image on the recording medium at image reading positions and a conveyance roller pair that conveys the recording medium to the plurality of image reading units. The conveyance roller pair includes a drive roller and a driven roller that contacts the drive roller and rotates following the drive roller. The plurality of image reading units includes an upstream and a downstream image reading units downstream from the upstream image reading unit in the conveyance direction. A reading interval between the image reading positions and a diameter of the drive roller satisfy the relation:
X2=n1×π×D1a, where X2 represents the reading interval, n1 represents an integer, and D1a represents the diameter of the drive roller.
Image forming apparatus to detect widths of recording material
An image forming apparatus includes a stack portion, a regulation portion, a detection unit, and a control unit. The regulation portion regulates a position of an edge of recording material stacked on the stack portion. The detection unit detects the position of the edge of the stacked and regulated recording material, and outputs a detection signal per the recording material edge detected position. Where the position of the recording material edge is detected, the control unit obtains a first width of the recording material stacked on the stack portion, calculates a second width of the recording material based on the detection signal output from the detection unit, and obtains a third width of the recording material by correcting a width of the recording material based on difference information between the second width of the recording material and the first width of the recording material.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FIXING METHOD
An image forming apparatus according to one or more embodiments includes a fixing device and a controller. The fixing device includes a first heating source and a second heating source. The second heating source has a heating width greater than that of the first heating source. The first and second heating sources have different heating characteristics in response to temperature increases. The controller selects one of the first heating source and the second heating source according to a size of a sheet on which printing is to be performed.
Image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus comprises a plurality of sheet detection units, provided at different positions along a sheet width direction, configured to detect the sheet conveyed on a conveyance path. A controller determines, by using the plurality of sheet detection units, a presence or absence of a sheet being conveyed in each of a plurality of regions sectioned in the sheet width direction, and determines, based on input image data, a presence or absence of an image to be formed in each of the plurality of regions. The controller further determines, based on the above determination results, whether or not the image to be formed on the sheet being conveyed is to be formed with a deviation from the sheet, and controls an image forming operation in accordance with this determination result.

Media size detector
In one example, a media size detector includes a button coupled to a spring of a housing to interact with a media size adjuster of a media tray, a first side of a lever to receive pressure from the spring when the button is depressed by the media size adjuster, and a second side of the lever to apply pressure to activate or deactivate a switch coupled to a printed circuit assembly when the first side of the lever receives pressure from the spring.
