Methods and devices for heart valve repair

A system for reshaping a valve annulus includes an elongate template having a length along a longitudinal axis and at least one concavity in a generally lateral direction along said length. The pre-shaped template is positioned against at least a region of an inner peripheral wall of the valve annulus, and at least one anchor on the template is advanced into a lateral wall of the valve annulus to reposition at least one segment of the region of the inner peripheral wall of the valve annulus into said concavity. In this way, a peripheral length of the valve annulus can be foreshortened and/or reshaped to improve coaption of the valve leaflets and/or to eliminate or decrease regurgitation of a valve.

DEVICE FOR TREATING URINARY STRESS INCONTINENCE

An implantable device for treating a patient suffering from female urinary stress incontinence includes an elongate sling for supporting the urethra, the sling having first and second ends. First and second tabs extend from the first and second ends of the sling, respectively for engaging supportive tissue superior to the portion of the urethra being supported. Each tab has a ratcheted section of alternating relatively projecting and relatively recessed portions for engaging the supportive tissue.

LIGATURE DELIVERY SYSTEM FOR AXIAL FIXATION OF PELVIC FLOOR STRUCTURES IN PELVIC ORGAN PROLAPSE AND STRESS URINARY INCONTINENCE REPAIR

The invention relates to medicine, in particular, to gynecology and urology, namely, to for ligature delivery system for axial fixation of pelvic floor structures in pelvic organ prolapse and stress urinary incontinence. Ligature delivery system for axial fixation of pelvic floor structures in pelvic organ prolapse and stress urinary incontinence consisting of the mesh material that is woven from a non-biodegradable and biodegradable monofilament threads, according to the invention so that non-biodegradable threads are arranged along to the implant axis and are not linked with each other. The technical effect is providing the axial support that is physiological for apical structures of pelvic floor and minimizing risks of mesh-associated postsurgical complications.

Implant Device for Eye Disease for Adjusting Intraocular Pressure

The present invention relates to an implant device for an eye disease for adjusting intraocular pressure. An implant device for an eye disease for adjusting the intraocular pressure according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a first tube into which the aqueous humor flows so as to adjust the intraocular pressure; and a second tube formed inside the first tube. The second tube is made of a biodegradable material configured to be degraded inside the eye over a predetermined period of time after being inserted into the eye. The first tube and the second tube may be divided into a first area and a second area according to the distance from the anterior chamber of the eyeball. The second area of the first tube and the second tube may have such a structure that the diameter thereof is larger than that of the first area of the first tube and the second tube, and the same can expand as the aqueous humor flows in.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR PROVIDING OR MAINTAINING FLUID FLOW THROUGH BODY PASSAGES

A device includes a first end portion, a second end portion, an intermediate portion, and a graft material. The first end portion has a first end diameter. The second end portion has a second end diameter smaller than the first end diameter. The first end portion comprises a first material. The second end portion comprises a second material different than the first material. The intermediate portion is between the first end portion and the second end portion. The intermediate portion tapers between the first end portion and the second end portion. The graft material is coupled to at least the intermediate portion.

Nasal implants and systems and method of use

Described are implants for placing in a body, tools for delivering the implants, and systems and methods for using implants and tools for placing in a body and more particularly to nasal implants, tools for delivering nasal implants, and systems and methods for using such implants and tools. A tool may include a hand-held implant delivery device that holds, moves, orients, inserts, or shapes an implant. An implant may be a biodegradable, longitudinal implant that may be oriented for implantation by an implant delivery device.

MICROSTRUCTURE SOFT TISSUE GRAFT

Soft tissue repair grafts are described comprising an anti-adhesion layer, a structural layer, and a localization layer. These layers may be distinct or integrated into one substrate. The term layer is used to distinguish tissue repair graft functionality rather than distinct material layers. The distinct layers of functionality may comprise a single plane of a substance.

MEDICAL IMPLANTS HAVING MANAGED BIODEGRADATION

Medical implants that include a containment layer surrounding, or surrounded by, a biodegradable medical device provide the benefit that pieces formed during degradation of the medical device are held within a constrained place and thus do not causes injury to a hosts.

STENT INCLUDING ANTI-MIGRATION CAPABILITIES

An example medical device for treating a body lumen is disclosed. The medical device includes an expandable scaffold including first and second regions, each of the first and second regions include a plurality of interstices located therein. The medical device also includes a covering spanning each of the plurality of interstices of the first region. The second region is free of the covering. A biodegradable gripping material is disposed on an outer surface of the covering. Further, the expandable scaffold is configured to shift from a collapsed state to an expanded state and the second region is configured to contact an inner surface of the body lumen in the expanded state. Additionally, the gripping material is designed to initially prevent migration of the expandable scaffold upon implantation in the body lumen until the second region is secured to the inner surface of the body lumen.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR FLUID FLOW THROUGH BODY PASSAGES

A device includes a first end portion, a second end portion, an intermediate portion between the first end portion and the second end portion, and a graft material coupled to at least the intermediate portion. The first end portion has a first end diameter. The second end portion has a second end diameter larger than the first end diameter. The intermediate portion tapers between the first end portion and the second end portion. A method of diverting fluid flow from a first passage to a second passage comprising deploying the device in a third passage between the first passage and the second passage, expanding the first end portion against sidewalls of the first passage, and expanding the second end portion against sidewalls of the second passage.
