Two regions opposing to each other when the folding portion folds a sheet are a first region and a second region. In a case that when the bonding portion bonds the folded sheet, the first region is positioned on a heating member side and the second region is positioned on a non-heating member side, the applying portion applies the powdery adhesive so that an application amount of the powdery adhesive on the sheet is smaller in the first region than in the second region.

A control method is provided for a booklet manufacturing apparatus that manufactures booklets by performing thermocompression bonding on a printing material with a bonding agent image formed at a predetermined site by a bonding agent with thermoplasticity. The method comprises performing thermocompression bonding of the predetermined site of the printing material placed in a stacking unit using a thermocompression bonding unit; and before the printing material is placed in the stacking unit, in a case where a predetermined condition of a temperature of a pressing member being equal to or less than a threshold is satisfied, performing control of the thermocompression bonding unit and performing preliminary heating on the pressing member.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit configured to form an image including an adhesive image by powder adhesive on a sheet that is conveyed; a bonding unit, to which sheets on which the image has been formed by the image forming unit are conveyed in order, configured to, by heating a plurality of sheets conveyed to and stacked in the bonding unit, bond the plurality of sheets, using adhesive images formed on the plurality of sheets; and a control unit configured to evaluate a temperature of the plurality of sheets conveyed to the bonding unit and, based on the evaluated temperature, control an amount of heat to be applied to the plurality of sheets by the bonding unit heating the plurality of sheets.

An image forming apparatus includes: a scanning unit configured to form latent images in a first region and in a second region of the photoreceptor; and a control unit configured to control a light emission luminance of the scanning unit. A booklet forming device includes a sheet support portion, and a bonding unit including a pressurizing member and configured to form a bonding layer. In a case of forming a first booklet including a first number of sheets, the bonding unit is operated under a first operation condition so that a thickness of the bonding layer positioned closest to the pressurizing member in the first booklet becomes a first thickness.
