FEMORAL AND HUMERAL STEM GEOMETRY AND IMPLANTATION METHOD FOR ORTHOPEDIC JOINT RECONSTRUCTION
20210128310 · 2021-05-06 ·

The present inventions relate to devices and methods that improve the positioning and fit of orthopedic reconstructive joint replacement stem implants relative to existing methods. For example, an embodiment of the device provides a stem component comprising proximal and distal body portions that can be configured to mimic a geometric shape of a central cavity region created in a bone of a joint for improving conformance and fixation of the stem component thereto. Further, another embodiment provides a system of stem implants that each have a unique medial offset for facilitating the matching of an implant to the geometry of a central cavity region of a bone. Additionally, an inclination angle of a resection surface of each of the implants in the system can remain constant or vary as a function of the medial offset.

Gluteal implants and gluteal implant systems are described herein, as are methods of manufacturing and implanting the same. In certain embodiments, the gluteal implant includes a body having a convex upper surface, a concave lower surface, and an edge, the edge being formed by the intersection between the convex upper surface and the concave lower surface. The body can take on various shapes, including a truncated ovoid shape, a truncated approximate ovoid shape, a truncated substantially ovoid shape, a truncated ellipsoid shape, a truncated approximate ellipsoid shape, or a truncated substantially ellipsoid shape, among others. In certain embodiments, the gluteal implant system includes first and second gluteal implants that have the same or different shaped bodies. In certain, the gluteal implants and gluteal implant systems are implanted in a buttock.

Penile implant

According to an aspect, a penile implant includes a first member having a coupling portion and a locking portion and a second member having a coupling portion and a locking portion. The coupling portion of the first member is configured to engage the coupling portion of the second member to movably couple the first member to the second member such that the first member is configured to be placed in a first position with respect to the second member and a second position with respect to the second member. The locking portion of the first member is configured to engage the locking portion of the second member help retain the first member in its second position with respect to the second member.

A system for repairing a defect on an articular surface of a patient's trochlear region, the system comprising a guide block comprising a body having an exterior surface configured to engage with the saddle portion and ridge portions of the patient's trochlear region, a protrusion extending generally from the body and configured to be received in a first bore formed in the articular surface along a reference axis, and a first cavity extending through the body configured to establish a first working axis displaced from the reference axis, wherein the exterior surface of the body and the protrusion are configured to secure the location of the guide block about the patient's trochlear region. A method for preparing an implant site in bone, comprising: establishing a reference axis extending from the bone; creating a bore in the bone by reaming about the reference axis; securing a guide block about the articular surface; establishing a first working axis extending from the bone using the guide block, the first working axis is displaced from the reference axis; and creating a first socket in the bone by reaming about the first working axis, wherein the first socket partially overlaps with the bore.

Crossbar spinal prosthesis having a modular design and systems for treating spinal pathologies

An adaptable spinal facet joint prosthesis may include a pedicle fixation element; a laminar fixation element; and a facet joint bearing surface having a location adaptable with respect at least one of the pedicle fixation element and the laminar fixation element. Methods of implanting an adaptable spinal facet joint prosthesis may include determining a desired position for a facet joint bearing surface; and attaching a prosthesis comprising a facet joint bearing surface to a pedicle portion of a vertebra and a lamina portion of a vertebra to place the facet joint bearing surface in the desired position. A facet joint prosthesis implant tool may include a tool guide adapted to guide a vertebra cutting tool; and first and second fixation hole alignment elements extending from the saw guide. Systems for treating spinal pathologies may include intervertebral discs in combination with spinal and facet joint prostheses.

IMPLANTABLE VALVE PROSTHESIS
20200397569 · 2020-12-24 ·

An implantable valve prosthesis for preventing blood reflux from a cardiac atrium into a vein opening into the atrium, with a generally tubular stent (2), also a flexible tube (3) that can be closed by collapsing the tube (3) and which is arranged at least in a partial area of a second end section (9) of the stent (2) on the outer peripheral surface. The second end opening (11) of the flexible tube (3) is open in the pressureless state. As a result of this valve design, during a physiological flow out of the pulmonary vein in the direction of the left atrium or out of the caval vein in the direction of the right atrium, there is no rise or an only insubstantial rise in the resistance to flow.
