Cartridge, image forming apparatus and manufacturing method of the cartridge
A cartridge used for forming an image on a recording material include a memory for storing information; a supporting portion provided on a first cartridge constituent member and provided with a slit for permitting insertion of the memory; and a preventing portion, provided on a second cartridge constituent member, for preventing movement of the memory inserted in the supporting portion. With respect to a direction crossing a longitudinal direction of the cartridge and crossing a thickness direction of the memory, a width of the preventing portion is smaller than a width of the memory inserted in the slit.
Image forming apparatus capable of determining whether toner cartridge is attached to appropriate slot provided in main casing
An image forming apparatus includes: a drum cartridge to which one of a first toner cartridge and a second toner cartridge is attachable; a frame including a first slot and a second slot; and a controller including a control memory and a processor. The drum cartridge to which the one of the first toner cartridge and the second toner cartridges is attached is attachable to one of the first slot and the second slot. The control memory stores first color information allocated to the first slot, and second color information allocated to the second slot. In a state where the drum cartridge is attached to one of the first slot and the second slot and when the drum memory does not store any color information, the processor is configured to perform: writing, into the drum memory, one of the first color information and the second color information which is appropriate.
DEVELOPER CONTAINER, DEVELOPER UNIT AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A developer container includes a memory device with a first marker; and a main body with a second marker, the main body being configured to accommodate a developer. The memory device is attached to the main body such that both the first marker and the second marker are visually recognized.
Toner refill control using reusable refill apparatus
An image forming apparatus is disclosed. The image forming apparatus includes a print engine to perform a printing job using toner filled in a toner cartridge, a communicator to communicate with a memory chip attached to a toner refill apparatus which refills the toner cartridge with toner, a memory to store group information corresponding to a plurality of image forming apparatuses for sharing the toner refill apparatus, and a processor to determine whether or not the toner refill apparatus is usable based on information stored in a memory chip of the toner refill apparatus and group information stored in the memory.
Powder container including a nozzle receiving opening and scoop
A powder conveying device includes: a conveying nozzle, provided with a powder receiving opening; an open/close member to open/close the powder receiving opening; a flange provided to the open/close member; a biasing member to bias the open/close member; and a container setting section to which a part of a powder container is to be fit. The powder container includes: a conveyor to convey the powder from a second end of the powder container to a first end; a container opening protruding from the first end; a nozzle receiving opening into which the conveying nozzle is to be inserted; and a butting portion provided in the container opening, to butt against the flange. When the powder container is attached to the powder conveying device, the container opening is fitted to the container setting section, and the flange and the biasing member are housed in an inner space of the container opening.
Method for error handling in the toner refill process
An image forming apparatus is provided. The image forming apparatus includes a print engine to perform a print job by using a toner filled in a toner cartridge, a communication apparatus to communicate with a memory chip attached to a toner refill apparatus refilling the toner in the toner cartridge, and a processor to, based on an error being found in a toner injection process for the toner cartridge by using the toner refill apparatus, store information related to the error in the toner cartridge.
Image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus includes a main unit, a main unit memory, a drum cartridge, a toner cartridge, and a controller. The main unit memory stores printer identification information. The drum cartridge includes a drum memory that stores drum identification information. The toner cartridge includes a toner memory that stores toner identification information. The controller is configured to store in the main unit memory the drum identification information stored in the drum memory and store in the drum memory the printer identification information stored in the main unit memory, if it determines that the drum cartridge installed in the main unit is new, and store in the main unit memory the toner identification information stored in the toner memory and store in the toner memory the drum identification information stored in the drum memory, if it determines that the toner cartridge installed in the main unit is new.
System and methods for detecting non-authentic slave components using clock frequency changes
A method for detecting a non-authentic slave component in an electronic printer device which includes receiving a command from a master component in the device, identifying a response to the command based upon a frequency of a plurality of clock pulses used by the master component while sending the command, and sending the response to the master component for use as a basis in determining whether the slave component is one of an authentic slave component and a non-authentic slave component. The disclosed method may be performed by a replaceable slave component in an imaging device including a slave circuit communicating with a master circuit of the master component along a serial communications interface. The master circuit includes an instruction to change a clock frequency when sending a command to the slave circuit to trigger a unique response from slave circuits of authentic slave components.
