Neck seal for a gas treatment hood

A seal for a gas treatment hood assembly is disclosed. The hood assembly is placeable over a user's head for treating a user with a gas such as oxygen. The assembly may have a neck ring around a user's neck with an elastomeric, tubular neck seal with one end of the neck seal connected to the neck ring and the other end configured to fit around the user's neck. The neck seal may have a double sealing element construction and may also have variable thickness along a sidewall for enhanced structural properties and improved patient comfort. The seal and hood assembly may be used in providing oxygen to a patient in a hyperbaric chamber.

The moisture and motion-activated cooling chef jacket is configured to be worn in a relatively hot work environment and includes a breathable outer layer having an inside and an outside, and is configured to define a front, back, sleeves, neck area and armpit area. A hydrophilic cooling layer is loosely layered at the inside of the breathable outer layer at the back, neck area and armpit area and configured to contact the skin of a chef to absorb sweat. The hydrophilic cooling layer is attached by seams to the inside of the breathable outer layer. The breathable outer layer includes a breathability configured to provide an inflow of air to, and outflow of vapor from, an evaporative zone formed between the hydrophilic cooling layer and the breathable outer layer. The hydrophilic cooling layer is stretchable and has an evaporative-related permeability such that body motion of the chef and corresponding stretching of the hydrophilic cooling layer promotes evaporation of absorbed sweat within the evaporative zone.

The belt strap has a series of a plurality of openings near a first end configured to receive a protrusion or prong of the belt buckle. The belt strap further has one or more buttonholes near a second end configured to receive a button of the pants or trousers. The belt buckle is pivotally coupled to the belt strap near the second end. The belt buckle has the pivotal protrusion or prong configured to extend into the plurality of openings near the first end. The extender button is coupled to an inner surface of the belt strap near the first end. The extender button is configured to extend into a pant hole of pants that typically receive the pant button. The belt strap can have a wide portion configured to cover over an open zipper and an open waist of the pants or trousers.

This invention relates to a fastener assembly and a garment comprising same, comprising a first fastener tape and a second fastener tapes having a row of cooperating fastener elements mounted thereon attached to first and second closing tapes, the first and second closing tapes folded parallel to the row of cooperating fastener elements such that when the fastener is closed, and a meshed area of fastener elements from the first and second fastener tapes is formed, i) the external edges of each of the first and second closing tapes overlap, ii) the external edge of the first closing tape fully covers the meshed area of fastening elements, and iii) the overlap of the external edge of the first closing tape by the external edge of the second closing tape extends past the meshed area of fastening elements.
