SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR INTEGRATED CONDITION MONITORING FOR POWER SYSTEM ASSET HEALTH SCORING

Systems and methods are disclosed for asset health assessment and fleet management. An example method may include classifying a first power system asset into a first sub-system and a second sub-system. The example method may also include measuring, by a processor of a protection relay and from a first power system asset, electrical, thermal, and/or mechanical data associated with the first power system asset. The example method may also include identifying a first fault feature for the first sub-system, wherein the first fault feature is influenced by load oscillations in the first power system asset. The example method may also include comparing the first fault feature to a second fault feature of a third sub-system in a second power system asset, wherein the second fault feature is the same as the first fault feature, and wherein the second fault feature is not associated with load oscillations. The example method may also include adjusting a threshold value based on the comparison of the first fault feature to the second fault feature of the third sub-system. The example method may also include calculating, by the processor and for a first sub-system of the first power system asset, a first value based on the electrical, thermal, and/or mechanical data. The example method may also include calculating, by the processor, based on the first value, and using recent measurement data, a second value associated with the first sub-system. The example method may also include calculating, by the processor and using historical average data, a third value associated with the first sub-system. The example method may also include determining, by the processor and based on the second value and the third value, a fourth value associated with the first power system asset. The example method may also include determining, by the processor, that the fourth value is greater than a threshold value. The example method may also include generating, by the processor, a warning based on the determination that the fourth value is greater than the threshold value.

A controller includes: a communication port and a connection port that allow communication with another controller; and a hardware processor coupled to the ports. The hardware processor is configured to: transmit a first state signal indicating a state of the controller of an own device to the other controller from each port; receive a second state signal indicating a state of the other controller from the other controller via each of the ports; and switch, when the own device is in a standby state, the own device from the standby state to an operating state, when a breakdown of the other controller indicated by the received second state signal and an unreceived state in which the second state signal is not received for a predetermined time or more from both the communication and connection ports are monitored and at least one of the breakdown and the unreceived state is detected.

The system also includes a gateway interface device communicatively coupled to the solid-state circuit breaker and includes a plurality of communication interfaces. In an embodiment, the gateway interface device includes a controller configured to perform operations including determining a connection status of at least one communication interface of the plurality of communication interfaces and determining a number of devices connected to the at least one communication interface, receive a signal from at least one device of the number of devices. In the embodiment, the operations may also include in response to receiving the signal, instructing the solid-state circuit breaker to disconnect the electrical load from the power supply.

The system also includes processing circuitry configured to use the second voltage generated by the mechanical device to adjust the image data presented by the display when the first voltage is unavailable.

A trend specification unit specifies a trend with regards to at least one sensor value. An abnormality cause estimation unit estimates an abnormality cause based on the trend for the sensor value(s), and a fault site estimation database for holding the relationship between abnormality causes that may occur in the plant and sensor values for each of the trends.

Switching to emergency operation is only possible after confirmation of the functionality of the relevant component.
