The horizontal back panel stitch (46) allows for the formation of a straight bag opening edge (76) when the panel is flipped over the neckline towards the garment's front. A removable bag strap (32) is housed within loops on the inside of the garment and the garment's hem is elongated such as to form the bag closing flap (80).

A process for forming a glove includes the steps of placing a second layer of a stretchable fabric on top of a first layer stretchable fabric, forming a seam by stitching through the first and second layers of stretchable fabric, trimming around an exterior of the seam through the first and second layers of stretchable fabric so as to separate a glove shape from the first and second layers of stretchable fabric, and turning the first and second layers of stretchable fabric inside out so as to form the glove. The stitching is of a repeatable stitch pattern in which a first stitch extends from a first point to a second point, a second stitch extends from the second point to a third point, a third stitch which extends from the third point back to the first point, and a fourth stitch extending from the first point to a fourth point.

The envelope pocket may be comprised of a compression material that may secure stored objects in place. In one embodiment, an envelope pocket may be opened from the bottom and disposed along the rear, upper portion of the garment. The pocket opening may be positioned such that an athlete may reach around his or her back and quickly and ergonomically insert and retrieve balls from the pocket. The envelope pocket may be constructed such that the stored objects and balls do not impede an athlete's movement during athletic activity.

A sports wave bag consists of an open bag formed by the overlayment and stitching of two pieces of cloth around three edges thereof. The pieces of cloth are selectively of the team colors of a sports team. At one end of the bag is a pair of handles and at the other end is an opening through which a fan may pass his head. The sports fan may be seated with his hands received in the bag and gripping the handles at the far end thereof, exposing a first color of the sports team. In executing the wave, the fan stands to his feet and, while doing so, lifts his arms above his head to expose the other piece of cloth of the second team color. The effect is adding vibrancy of color and color change to the motion of the wave when performed at sporting events.

ACTIVE VENTING GARMENT USING PIEZOELECTRIC ELEMENTS

Embodiments of the invention include an active venting system. According to an embodiment of the invention, the active venting system may include a substrate having one or more seams formed through the substrate. In order to open the vents defined by the seams through the substrate, a piezoelectric layer may be formed proximate to one or more of the seams. Additional embodiments may include a first electrode and a second electrode that contact the piezoelectric layer in order to provide a voltage differential across the piezoelectric layer. In an embodiment the active venting system may be integrated into a garment. In such an embodiment, the garment may also include an electronics module for controlling the actuators. Additionally, conductive traces may be printed on the garment or sewn into the garment to provide electrical connections from the electronics module to each of the piezoelectric actuators.
