Diesel fuel temperature relief valve

A thermostatic valve for a diesel fuel system includes a valve housing and a valve element movable within the housing between a position directing heated diesel fuel returning from an engine to the inlet of a fuel pump and a position dumping the fuel into a reservoir where the fuel mixes with lower temperature fuel. A temperature responsive thermostatic element moves the valve element in response to the temperature of the diesel fuel. A temperature relief valve is provided in the housing to dump the returning fuel into the reservoir if the temperature reaches a temperature indicating overheating of the fuel. The temperature relief valve is a bi-metal valve mounted in an end wall of the valve housing.

THERMOSTATIC DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING THE CIRCULATION OF A FLUID, AND THERMOSTATIC VALVE INCLUDING SUCH A DEVICE

A thermostatic device including a thermostatic element and a stopper, axially movable about a stationary seat of a housing, opening and closing a passage circulating fluid and connected to a movable portion of the thermostatic element. During expansion of a thermoexpansible material of the thermostatic element, the movable portion drives the stopper axially relative to the seat. The stopper includes a seal, resting tightly against the seal when the fluid circulation passage is closed by the stopper, a first part, with an inner bore receiving the movable portion, and a second part, separate from the first part, the seal being axially charged between the first and second parts. The first and second parts are made of metal, the second part is mounted around the first part, the part facing the axis of the second part forms a peripheral edge attaching said second part to the outer surface of the first part, and the first part forms an axial abutment for the edge of the second part, positioning the first and second parts axially relative to one another by applying a predetermined clamping load to the seal.

Adjustable coolant thermostat housing

An adjustable coolant thermostat housing has a threaded adjustment shaft (15) that when turned moves it's mating surface with the wax body rod (14) farther from or closer to the thermostat wax body (8) which determines at what temperature the thermostat valve (10) opens or closes. This embodiment allows an individual to adjust what the operating temperature of the engine coolant is ultimately set to. Instead of a preset, nonadjustable thermostat, my embodiment allows a range of coolant temperatures to be chosen. The coolant temperature could also be remotely adjusted using one of the other embodiments.

Thermostatic mixing valve

Embodiment thermostatic valves are protected against damage to the wax motor from the leakage of hot water into the valve when the hot water inlet is closed. Embodiments include an improved temperature motive means with fewer parts than conventional valves and with an improved sealing relation between the wax motor/shuttle and the water ports.

MULTISTAGE AUTOMATED THERMAL BALANCING VALVE

A multistage automated thermally actuated valve utilizing a thermally expansive substance to substantially close the valve at a first temperature and a spring to open the valve at a second, lower temperature. A multistage automated valve comprising a first thermal assembly to balance fluid flow at a first temperature and a second thermal assembly to balance fluid flow at a second temperature in order to balance fluid flow in a system operated at a first temperature as well as at a second temperature. A method of utilizing an automated thermally actuated valve to balance and manage hot water supply in a piping system.

In a sanitary installation part (1) which, along with a functional unit (7), forms a flow volume regulator, it is proposed that a regulating element (13), which can be adjusted along an adjustment path, be coupled to a temperature-sensitive drive unit (15) such that different regulating positions of the regulating element (13) are set in dependence on the temperature of the medium flowing through the installation part (1), wherein the different regulating positions realize in each case different volume-flow dependencies (11, 12, 45, 48) and/or flow resistances.

Thermostatic Bypass Valve
20180017155 · 2018-01-18 ·

A thermostatic bypass valve has an intentional flow resistance through a bypass passageway when fluid is at a normal operating temperature. This flow resistance, of between 10 and 20 psi at a flow rate of 10 liters per minute, is achieved by limiting a radial clearance within the bypass passageway to less than 1.0 mm. The flow rate through the bypass passageway is at least half of the flow resistance of the cooler. This bypass flow resistance is beneficial because it limits the flow rate of lubrication fluid during bypass, reducing the parasitic losses of the gearbox.

PUMPLESS TOP-UP WATER HEATING TANK

A water heating tank comprises a reservoir having a cold water inlet and a hot water outlet; a can disposed in a lower portion of the tank enclosing at least a part of a heater; a chimney extending from the top of the can to an upper portion of the tank. A chimney valve is arranged between the can and the chimney. The chimney valve is configured to prevent water flowing from the can into the chimney when a temperature of water in the can exceeds a first chimney threshold temperature.
