Traumatic bone fracture repair systems and methods
A hand and/or wrist implant, including a web structure having a space truss with two or more planar truss units having a plurality of struts joined at nodes. The web structure is configured for the repair of traumatic bone fractures.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A POROUS METAL MATERIAL FOR BIOMEDICAL APPLICATIONS AND MATERIAL OBTAINED BY SAID METHOD
Disclosed is a method for obtaining a porous titanium part in a metal material, wherein a starting titanium powder is pure, which has a mean particle size of 200 micrometers, a flow rate of 93 s calculated according to ISO 4490 standard, an apparent density of 1.0 g/cm.sup.3 calculated according to ISO 3923/1, and the starting titanium powder is mixed at a proportion of 34% of titanium by weight with at least 50% by weight of sodium chloride (NaCl) having a particle size between 300 and 600 micrometers.
OSTEOSYNTHETIC IMPLANT
Provided is an osteosynthetic implant including a base material composed of magnesium or a magnesium alloy and a ceramic membrane containing magnesium and formed on a surface of the base material. The ceramic membrane includes a porous lower membrane layer disposed in a region adjacent to the base material and an upper membrane layer covering the lower membrane layer and serving as an outermost layer. The upper membrane layer is denser than the lower membrane layer.
EXPANDABLE INTERVERTEBRAL CAGE WITH LIVING HINGES APPARATUS, SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE THEREOF
An expandable intervertebral cage with living hinges manufactured using 3D printing. The intervertebral cage is configured to expand from an unexpanded to an expanded configuration. The intervertebral cage can include a deployment system, such as a variable volume pouch or deployment cable, to apply force to the intervertebral cage to deploy the intervertebral cage.
Implant having a shaft coated with a web structure
In various embodiments, an implant for interfacing with a bone structure includes a web structure including a space truss. The space truss includes two or more planar truss units having a plurality of struts joined at nodes and the web structure is configured to interface with human bone tissue. In some embodiments, a method is provided that includes accessing an intersomatic space and inserting an implant into the intersomatic space. The implant includes a web structure including a space truss. The space truss includes two or more planar truss units having a plurality of struts joined at nodes and the web structure is configured to interface with human bone tissue.
Subchondral treatment of joint pain of the spine
Methods for altering the natural history of degenerative disc disease and osteoarthritis of the spine are proposed. The methods focus on the prevention, or delayed onset or progression of, subchondral defects such as bone marrow edema or bone marrow lesion, and subchondral treatment to prevent the progression of osteoarthritis or degenerative disc disease in the spine and thereby treat pain.
Programmable implant having an angled exterior surface
Various embodiments of implant systems and related apparatus, and methods of operating the same are described herein. In various embodiments, an implant for interfacing with a bone structure includes a web structure, including a space truss, configured to interface with human bone tissue. The space truss includes two or more planar truss units having a plurality of struts joined at nodes. Implants are optimized for the expected stress applied at the bone structure site.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A SURFACE STRUCTURE ON AN IMPLANT, AND SUCH AN IMPLANT
A surface structure is produced on an outer surface of an implant or a fixture and forms a base structure in a range of implants related to different types and qualities of jaw bone. During production of the surface, parts of a turning tool are placed against the implant or against a blank which is intended to form the implant. The parts and/or the implant are assigned controls which give rise to mutual displacements between the parts and the implant so that the parts follow a substantially spiral trajectory along the outer surface. By means of said controls, a long wave pattern is formed with successive peaks and with through lying between these. In this connection, a through can be arranged adjacent to the outer parts of an existing thread. The controls are chosen so as to produce through depths in the range of 25 to 250 m, preferably 50 to 200 m. The invention also relates to an implant which bas the same character as the implant produced by the method.
Implants having bone growth promoting agents and methods of using such implants to repair bone structures
Implants may be coated with or include fibers or particles to enhance bone growth around and through the implant.
Programmable implant having curved or arced struts
