An apparatus includes a request module configured to receive a request over a data network to unlock a door of a container. An apparatus includes a payment module configured to determine whether one or more payment conditions is satisfied for one or more items within a container. An apparatus includes a security module configured to, in response to determining that one or more payment conditions is satisfied, receive unlock information for unlocking a door of a container and enable one or more security measures for monitoring activity within the container.
Operating a climate control system based on occupancy status
According to certain embodiments, a controller is operable to instruct a climate control system to operate according to an occupied mode or an unoccupied mode based on a pre-defined schedule. The occupied mode uses pre-defined settings associated with an occupied status, and the unoccupied mode uses pre-defined settings associated with an unoccupied status. The controller is operable to receive an indication that an occupancy sensor detects a space as being occupied. In response to receiving the indication when the pre-defined schedule requires the climate control system to operate in the unoccupied mode, the controller is operable to instruct the climate control system to use the pre-defined settings associated with the occupied status during an override time period.
Refrigerator and temperature measurement error correcting method of infrared sensor
Provided are a refrigerator, and a method for correcting temperature measurement errors of an infrared sensor including: verifying that the infrared sensor is running in an operating state; obtaining a measured operating-state value acquired by the infrared sensor sensing the temperature of a preset zone; obtaining a correction constant corresponding to the infrared sensor, the correction constant being obtained by means of a comparison between the value measured by the infrared sensor in a correction state and a standard temperature value; using the correction constant to correct the measured value and thus obtain a corrected temperature value. Using the method, the impact of an absolute error of the infrared sensor on temperature measurement is reduced; thus the accuracy of temperature measurement is improved, such that measured values directly reflect the actual temperature of the items inside a preset zone, and an accurate basis for control is provided for subsequent associated control.
Process and apparatus for producing petroleum products
A process and an apparatus for pyrolysis of mixed plastic feedstock producing petroleum products are described. In one example, a process for producing petroleum products includes charging feedstock of mixed polymer materials into a reactor apparatus. Heat energy is applied to the feedstock while advancing the feedstock through the reactor apparatus in an anaerobic operation. The energy input to the reactor apparatus is controlled by controlling a temperature gradient within the reactor vessel to produce petroleum gas product. The process involves in situ chemical reactions comprising cracking and recombination reactions that that are controlled to convert solid hydrocarbonaceous portion of the feedstock to molten fluids and gases inside the reactor vessel and to produce gaseous petroleum products which exit the reactor vessel. The separated solid residue from the pyrolysis process is also removed from the reactions vessel.
PROCESS MONITORING AND CONTROL USING BATTERY-FREE MULTIPOINT WIRELESS PRODUCT CONDITION SENSING
An arrangement for monitoring an aseptic manufacturing process includes product condition sensors capable of making closely spaced measurements of a product condition such as temperature or humidity. The measurements are made using closely spaced sensors arranged in a linear array on a single probe, which may be used to take measurements at multiple levels within the product. Data from the sensors is transmitted to a data collection point via short range wireless digital communications. The sensors may be used to measure temperature and humidity at a single point. For example, when the sensors are used in pharmaceutical freeze drying, the location of a sublimation front may be calculated for each vial, and the freeze drying process may be controlled using the data.
PROCESS, APPARATUS, CONTROLLER AND SYSTEM FOR PRODUCING PETROLEUM PRODUCTS
A process and an apparatus for pyrolysis of mixed plastic feedstock producing petroleum products are described.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TEMPERATURE CONTROL MANAGEMENT IN MOBILE DEVICES
The present disclosure includes systems and methods for controlling temperature in an electronic device. An electronic device includes a number of heat-emitting components, a plurality of compartments, and a processor. The processor is configured to identify a temperature in one of the compartments of the electronic device, determine whether the identified temperature in the one compartment exceeds a threshold for the one compartment, and in response to determining that the identified temperature for the one compartment exceeds the threshold, modify, based on the identified temperature, operation of a component of the number of heat-emitting components that is located in the one compartment to reduce the temperature in the one compartment.
Occupancy-based operating state determinations for sensing or control systems
A thermostat for controlling an HVAC system in an enclosure may include a passive infrared sensor, an active infrared sensor, and an electronic display having a first mode and a second mode. The thermostat may also include one or more processors programmed to change a setpoint temperature of the thermostat to an energy-saving temperature upon detection of a non-occupancy condition for the enclosure. The processor(s) may detect the non-occupancy condition based at least in part on readings received from the passive infrared sensor. The processor(s) may also be programmed to change the electronic display from the first mode to the second mode upon detection of a person approaching the thermostat. The processor(s) may detect a person approaching the thermostat based at least in part on readings received from the active infrared sensor.
EFFECTIVENESS-WEIGHTED CONTROL OF COOLING SYSTEM COMPONENTS
Energy efficient control of cooling system cooling of an electronic system is provided based, in part, on weighted cooling effectiveness of the components. The control includes automatically determining speed control settings for multiple adjustable cooling components of the cooling system. The automatically determining is based, at least in part, on weighted cooling effectiveness of the components of the cooling system, and the determining operates to limit power consumption of at least the cooling system, while ensuring that a target temperature associated with at least one of the cooling system or the electronic system is within a desired range by provisioning, based on the weighted cooling effectiveness, a desired target temperature change among the multiple adjustable cooling components of the cooling system. The provisioning includes provisioning applied power to the multiple adjustable cooling components via, at least in part, the determined control settings.
