The present invention relates to a surface cover for a body which can be brought into contact with a liquid, comprising: a layer which at least partly contains gas and which is designed and arranged such that at least some sections of a layer face facing the liquid contacts the liquid; a gas-permeable layer which is arranged on the gas-containing layer on a face that faces the body and is opposite the face facing the liquid or which is integrally formed with the gas-containing layer; and a gas-supplying device which is connected to the gas-permeable layer such that gas can flow from the gas-supplying device to the gas-containing layer through the gas-permeable layer. The invention also relates to an arrangement and a use.

A swimsuit (1) has an outer shell (2) made of a flexible stretchable fabric and forms a tubular trunk portion (6) and two tubular thigh portions (7), the swimsuit (1) comprising two back stiffening lines (8) continuously connected to the outer shell (2) and extending each in a generally longitudinal direction of a one of the thigh portions (7) from a rear region (9) of the thigh portion (7) across a rear region of the trunk portion (6), in which said back stiffening lines (8) have a tensile stiffness greater than a tensile stiffness of said outer shell (2).

A lower body garment for wear while surfing, swimming or body surfing has a lower torso portion for enclosing the lower torso of a wearer and right and left legs depending downward for enclosing at least the thigh portion of a wearer's right and left legs, respectively, each leg having a lower end opening, the lower torso portion having an upper band portion for securing the garment around a wearer's torso, and one or more right and left thigh fins secured to the outer right and left side portions of the garment, respectively, and projecting laterally outward from the garment. A wetsuit is provided which comprises (a) a first central region comprising a first material and having a first thickness; and (b) a second lateral region comprising a second material and having a second thickness. The present invention aims to reduce form drag and provides a sports garment having a chest-covering portion (1) and an abdomen-covering portion (2) for covering the wearer's chest and abdomen respectively. Articles of sports apparel may include elongate support elements. Particular examples provided are swimsuits and other sports apparel such as sports apparel for rugby football. An Article of sports apparel may include at least one base portion adapted to be arranged proximate a lower back of a user when worn, and at least three elongate support elements. The at least three elongate support elements may be arranged at the base portion such as to extend outwardly from a region at least partially encompassing the lower back of the user when worn.

An apparel item configured to reduce the perception of cling is provided herein. The apparel item comprises a first set of outwardly-projecting nodes on a first portion of the apparel item, a second set of outwardly-projecting nodes on a second portion of the apparel item, and a third set of inwardly-projecting nodes on a third portion of the apparel item, where the third set of nodes is positioned between the first set of nodes and the second set of nodes. The first and second sets of outwardly-projecting nodes comprise apertures that provide a communication passage from an outer surface of the apparel item to an inner surface of the apparel item. Besides reducing the surface area of the apparel item that comes into contact with a wearer's skin surface, the nodes also facilitate cooling the wearer and speed up drying times of the apparel item when being worn.
