Camera and sensor controls for remotely operated vehicles and virtual environments
A hand controller that includes a control member mounted on a hand held base for commanding a remote vehicle or movement of a virtual object within a virtual environment includes an input device mounted for generating tilt commands for a sensor mounted on the remote vehicle or the virtual object, the input device being located on a front of the base and oriented to be displaced up and down to tilt the sensor or the virtual point of view when the base is held during operation.
Controller with situational awareness display
A hand controller for commanding or controlling a target, such as a remote vehicle or a virtual target, includes a display mounted on a free end of a joystick for indicating graphically a direction of the remote vehicle from the hand controller and an orientation of the target relative to the hand controller's frame of reference, based on the location and orientation of the target received by the hand controller from the target and the location and orientation of the hand controller.
Single axis joystick
A joystick with a first casing that has a piece of a sensor/effector pair. A second section is attached to the first casing, where at least one of the first and second casings form a void within the first and second casings. A puck with a cylindrical shape is disposed within the void, where the puck has a piece of the sensor/effector pair. A shaft is connected to the puck, with a distal end free to move, thereby rotating the puck. The shaft passes through a void between the first and second casings, and as the shaft is moved and the puck rotates, an interaction between the pieces of the sensor/effector pair produces a signal indicating a degree of movement of the shaft.
MANUAL INPUT DEVICE AND METHOD
A manual input device for a machine includes an elongate handle rigidly connected at one end to a frame of a machine and configured to be engaged by a hand of an operator, and a control portion connected to a free end of the elongate handle. The control portion includes a first plurality of control surfaces and a second plurality of control surfaces associated with sensors providing control signals. The first plurality of control surfaces is positioned and oriented relative to the handle portion so it is accessible for interaction by a thumb of the hand of the operator, and the second plurality of control surfaces is positioned and oriented relative to the handle portion so it is accessible for interaction by an index finger of the hand of the operator.
User interface device
A user interface device for controlling a robot manipulator having an end effector comprising at least one movable element, the user interface device comprising: a body for being held by a user, the body comprising an elongate grip portion configured to be gripped by one or more of a user's second to fourth fingers; a trigger extending transversely to the direction of elongation of the grip portion, the trigger being supported by the body so as to be capable of rotating relative to the body about a rotation axis passing through the grip portion; and a drive mechanism at least partially housed in the grip portion, the drive mechanism being coupled to the trigger for applying a torque to the trigger.
Multi-way input device
A multi-way input device includes a first interlocking member, a second interlocking member, a hollow frame within which the interlocking members are mounted, and an operating shaft inserted through both a slit of the first interlocking member and a slot of the second interlocking member. The device also includes first and second sensing components capable of being operated respectively through the first and second interlocking members when rotating by operation of the operating shaft, along with third sensing component capable of being operated through the second interlocking member when pivoting by operation of the operating shaft. The device also includes an articulation member that is rotatably supported by the hollow frame around an axis. The second interlocking member is supported by the articulation member to form a mobile unit that is rotatable. The second interlocking member is also pivotally mounted on the articulation member.

Control of a self-powered floor preparation machine is provided by an ergonomic controller having a guarded control stick which has various characteristics, including its pitch, roll, yaw and height, that may all be adjusted.
Platform Control System For Boom Lifts
A platform control system for boom lifts preferably includes a control panel, a left joystick and a right joystick. The left joystick includes a plurality of left ON-OFF-ON rocker switches and a plurality of left ON-OFF push button switches. The right joystick includes a plurality of right ON-OFF-ON rocker switches and a plurality of right ON-OFF push button switches. The left and right joysticks can be configured to work on a telescopic boom lift machine as well as on an articulating boom lift machine. The control panel preferably includes a display screen and a screen shroud. The display screen is mounted in a middle of the control panel. The display screen includes a plurality of proceed lights, warning lights and error lights pertaining to the functions of the left and right joysticks. The screen shroud partially covers the display screen to eliminate sun glare.
TRACKED VEHICLE COMPRISING A USER INTERFACE
Tracked vehicle comprising: a frame extending along a longitudinal axis; a plurality of tracks; at least an accessory device selected from a group comprising a blade, a tiller assembly and a winch assembly; and a user interface comprising a control device coupled to the plurality of tracks to drive the advance of the tracked vehicle; and a joystick coupled to the at least accessory device to drive the movements of the at least accessory device; wherein the joystick comprises a lever configured so that it can be move in any direction with respect to a rest position; wherein the joystick comprises a detector assembly to detect a movement of the lever with respect to the rest position and to emit an output signal based on the detected movement.
MACHINE CONTROL COMPONENT WITH INPUT DEVICE TO CONTROL MACHINE DISPLAY

The system may further include a second control component. The first control component (or the second control component) may be configured to control a movement of an implement of the machine.
