Foldable Screen Shade for a Display Device
20230101238 · 2023-03-30 ·

The present invention relates to a lightweight, cost-effective and foldable screen shield for use with a portable electronic device. The shield has a back portion that is secured to the back of the screen, a top portion that lies horizontally above the screen to protect the screen from light and a pair of side panels covering the screen from side edges. The side panels and the top portion are collapsible, and can be secured with a pair of elastic straps or other fastener. The elastic straps are used for securing the shield device to the bezel or frame in an unfolded orientation, thereby allowing a secure attachment. The top section can be expanded and two side panels are pulled outward from the longitudinal edges. The top section and side panels form a three-sided barrier around the screen to block glare.

Display apparatus and manufacturing method thereof

A display apparatus having high external light transmittance and a manufacturing method of the display apparatus are provided, wherein the display apparatus does not substantially include a common electrode in a transmission region. Particularly, a display apparatus includes a first substrate, a second substrate facing the first substrate, and a display unit interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate.

Devices and systems for under display image sensor

An optical system is described. The optical system may include a sensor which may be in a mobile device. The optical system may use the same light source for imaging the display and for providing light to a sensor or sensor device. The optical system may be configured so that randomly polarized light will exit the device for viewing so that a user may view the display in any rotated orientation while wearing polarized eyewear. The optical system may further be configured to mitigate reflections in the mobile device from ambient light entering the system and from reflected and backscattered light from cross-contaminating the imaging light of the display.

A method for manufacturing a display device includes the steps of: providing a first display panel including a first indicia and a second indicia; disposing a first window including a third indicia on the first display panel; identifying a position of the first indicia and a position of the third indicia; aligning the first display panel and the first window using the positions of the first and third indicia; coupling the first window and the first display panel to each other; identifying a coupled position defined by positions of the second and third indicia of the first display panel and the first window; correcting a position of a second display panel or a position of a second window based on the coupled position; and coupling the second window and the second display panel to each other.

Computer display or cover glass/cell attachment to frame

The described embodiments relate generally to computing devices including liquid crystal displays (LCDs) and more particularly to methods for attaching a cover glass layer to a structural housing while minimizing an amount of stress transferred through the cover glass layer to the LCD module. A continuous and compliant foam adhesive can be used to bond the cover glass layer to a structural. The compliant bond can absorb and distribute local stress concentrations caused by structural loads, mismatched surfaces and differing thermal expansion rates between various structures and cover glass layer. This can reduce stress concentrations in the cover glass layer that can lead to stress induced birefringence in the LCD cell. In other embodiments, the cover glass layer can be attached using magnets or a tongue and groove design.

Adjustable viewing angle for a computer privacy filter

A privacy filter includes a plurality of micro louvers. Each micro louver of the plurality of micro louvers is a same size. Each micro louver of the plurality of micro louvers are laid flat on top of each other to form the privacy filter. The plurality of micro louvers includes a first micro louver and a set of micro louvers. The first micro louver is in a fixed position. The set of micro louvers has a first piezo element at a first end of each micro louver and a second piezo element at a second end of each micro louver. The first end is opposite the second end.

A window including a base substrate, which includes a transmission region and a bezel region in a plan view and includes a front surface and a rear surface that are opposite to each other in a thickness direction, a light-blocking layer, which is disposed on the rear surface of the base substrate and is overlapped with the bezel region, and a printing layer, which is disposed on the light-blocking layer and has a target surface, in which a barcode pattern is formed. The printing layer may have a chromatic color, and a width of the printing layer may be less than a width of the light-blocking layer.

Cover glass to housing interface system

A display cover to housing interface system includes a display screen fronted by a display cover having front and obverse faces and a distal edge between the faces around a circumference thereof (i.e., edge thickness), and also an outer housing that provides support for the display cover. A portion of the display cover distal edge or thickness is fully exposed to outside, such that the display cover is exposed and substantially visible when viewed directly from the front and at least one side while installed. The display cover can be glass, while the housing is metal. A protective layer located between the housing and display cover protects the display cover from the housing. Various support components hold the display cover in place, and can include magnets and/or a stabilizer assembly affixed along a bottom edge of the display cover and adapted to couple to a bottom chin of the housing.
