Information handling system multi-purpose connector guide pin structure
A USB Type C connector port adapts to support docking solutions with enhanced power transfer features, including increased power transfer levels supported through a guide pin and connector interface, rapid power transfer configuration changes by applying pre-negotiated power settings, external battery charge and discharge at an information handling system with improved efficiency accomplished by transitioning voltage between native and boosted levels responsive to information handling system load, and robust connector port coupling in a cavity of a connector shell.
Electronic device having an inductive charging system
An electronic device includes a housing coupled to a display window, a battery and a plurality of inductive charging transmit coils coupled to the battery. The plurality of inductive charging coils are positioned within the enclosure to generate an inductive charging region that extends through the display window and across at least a portion of an exterior of the display window. Sensing circuitry is configured to sense a position of a stylus at the display window and a processor is configured to selectively engage and disengage one or more of the plurality of inductive charging transmit coils based on the sensed position of the stylus. The stylus receives power when it is positioned within the inductive charging window.
Electronic device including wireless charging structure
An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a housing including a front plate that faces a first direction and a rear plate that faces a second direction, which is opposite the first direction, a display panel configured to output a screen through the front plate, a bracket disposed between the display panel and the rear plate, the bracket being configured to support internal components, a flexible printed circuit board including a first area electrically connected to the display panel, and a second area extending from the first area and disposed between the display panel and the bracket, a wireless charging structure disposed on one face of the second area or inside the second area, the wireless charging structure including a coil portion and transmission wires electrically connected to the coil portion, and a magnetic plate disposed between the bracket and the flexible printed circuit board, and at least one area of the magnetic plate being disposed to face the wireless charging structure.
Information handling system with a battery tab mechanism to optimize battery flexibility
A system includes a chassis assembly, a snap holder secured to the chassis assembly, and a second snap holder secured to the chassis assembly. A first tab clip may be snap-fitted onto the first snap holder to secure the first tab clip to the first snap holder, and a second tab clip may be snap-fitted onto the first snap holder to secure the second tab clip to the second snap holder. Each tab clip includes a soft component portion within the tab clip. A battery may be affixed to the first and second tab clips after the tab clips are secured to the snap holders.
Managing device functions based on physical interaction with device modules
Embodiments are provided for managing operation of an electronic device based on the connection(s) of hardware module(s) to the electronic drive via a support housing. According to certain aspects, the electronic device may detect when a hardware module connects to the support housing. The electronic device may identify a function associated with the hardware module, where the function may be a built-in function of the hardware module itself or of the electronic device. The electronic device may accordingly activate the identified function.
System for integrated magnetic retention
A portable information handling system (IHS), including a housing having a main housing portion, a lid housing portion, and a hinge assembly rotatably coupling the main housing portion and the lid housing portion to rotate the lid housing portion through a plurality of angular positions relative to the main housing portion is disclosed. The plurality of positions include a closed position and a tablet position. The portable IHS further includes a lid magnet assembly in the lid housing portion including a point on the lid magnet assembly closest to the hinge assembly in the tablet position at a first position on a y-axis; and a main magnet assembly in the main housing portion including a point on the main magnet assembly closest to the hinge assembly in the tablet position at a second position on a y-axis, wherein the second position is approximately the same as the first position.
