Ingress Protection Subsystem for Microphones in Mobile Computing Devices
A mobile computing device includes: a housing having a front face, an opposing back face, and side walls joining the front and back faces; a microphone supported within the housing; and an acoustic channel extending between the microphone and an exterior of the housing, the acoustic channel defined by: (i) a microphone port traversing one of the side walls; (ii) a membrane assembly affixed to a first inner housing surface around the microphone port; and (iii) an isolation plate affixed to a second inner housing surface surrounding at least a portion of the first inner housing surface, the isolation plate having a channel opening therethrough and configured to engage with the membrane assembly.
PIVOTABLE ACOUSTIC DEVICES
In an example, an electronic device may include a housing and a first acoustic device pivotally disposed in the housing. The first acoustic device may move between a first position within the housing and a second position outside the housing. The first acoustic device may direct an acoustic signal in a direction. Further, the electronic device may include a camera to capture an image of an area in front of the electronic device. Furthermore, the electronic device may include a processor operatively coupled to the camera and the first acoustic device. The processor may determine a location of a facial feature of an operator using the captured image. Further, the processor may control an angle of rotation of the first acoustic device relative to the housing based on the location of the facial feature to modify the direction of the acoustic signal.
Cushion Plate and Display Device Including the Same
Disclosed are a cushion plate and a display device including the same. The cushion plate includes an impact-absorbing layer disposed on a back surface of a display panel, a first metal layer disposed on upper portion of the impact-absorbing layer, and a second metal layer formed on upper portion of the first metal layer and having a higher thermal conductivity than the first metal layer. The impact-absorbing layer, the first metal layer, and the second metal layer have a first curvature area, and at least one perforated pattern is defined in an area of the first metal layer corresponding to the first curvature area.
Lock for a Portable Information Handling System
A main housing portion of a portable information handing system. The main housing portion includes: a top cover portion; a bottom cover portion; and, an information handling system locking system, the information handling system locking system including a bottom cover locking component, the bottom cover locking component being mounted to the bottom cover, the bottom cover locking component defining a bottom cover locking portion aperture, the bottom cover locking portion aperture being aligned with the top cover aperture.
SINGLE SURFACE TOP COVERS FOR INFORMATION HANDLING SYSTEMS
Disclosed herein are single surface top covers for portable information handling systems, and that employ a substrate of thermoplastic fiberglass composite which is impregnated with polycarbonate material. The thermoplastic fiberglass composite material may be recyclable, and the thermoplastic fiberglass composite material may be impregnated with recycled polycarbonate material. A selective UV molding process may be employed to create multiple different finishes on the same upper surface of a single surface top cover by applying a nano coat of a textured UV light curable resin on at least a portion of the upper surface of a single surface top cover.
DETACHABLE KEYBOARD AND STAND WITH STRAP HINGE
A cover for a tablet or similar computer device equipped with strap hinges is disclosed. In embodiments, the cover may include three strap hinges to allow the tablet to be placed in several different configurations. The cover is equipped with at least two magnets in different polarities, which may be detected by the tablet. Based on the detection of at least one magnet and its polarity, the tablet may cause the interface of its operating system to be placed into a configuration appropriate to the configuration of the cover. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE INCLUDING FLEXIBLE DISPLAY
According to various embodiments, an electronic device may include: a first housing, a second housing foldably connected to the first housing through a hinge, and a flexible display supported by the first housing and the second housing, the flexible display including a window layer having a first surface and a second surface facing a direction opposite to the first surface, and including a glass layer, and a display panel corresponding to the second surface under the window layer, wherein the glass layer includes a plurality of first patterns on the first surface, a surface of the plurality of first patterns being lower than the first surface, and a plurality of second patterns on the second surface, a surface of the plurality of second patterns being lower than the second surface, and a first etching amount per unit area of the plurality of first patterns and a second etching amount per the unit area of the plurality of second patterns are different.
STYLUS DEVICE ATTACHMENTS
In examples in accordance with the present disclosure, a stylus device is described. An example stylus device includes a body portion having an opening. The example stylus device also includes a retractable attachment mechanism to connect the stylus device to a receiver mechanism. The example attachment mechanism includes a magnet to cause the attachment mechanism to extend through the opening in response to a magnetic force. The example attachment mechanism also includes a bias mechanism to retract the attachment mechanism into the body portion.
Connector assembly for an electronic device
Particular examples described herein provide for an electronic device, such as a notebook computer or laptop, which includes a circuit board coupled to a plurality of electronic components (which includes any type of hardware elements, circuitry etc.). The electronic device may also include a connector assembly that is positioned within at least a portion of a recess of the electronic device, where the connector assembly includes: a first assembly that is to receive a connector; and a second assembly that is to receive an identification module that is to provide an association between a user and the electronic device.
Latches with receivers to releasably engage anchor points
Examples described herein relate to a latch for releasably coupling objects. In some such examples, the latch includes a receiver, a torque member, and a handle. The receiver includes a lobe to releasably engage an anchor point within a recess of the receiver. The torque member is rotatably coupled to the receiver to rotate the receiver. The handle includes a torque portion rotatably coupled to the torque member to rotate the torque member and includes a lever extending from the torque portion.
