Operation device
An operation device includes: a first substrate on which a wiring pattern is formed; an input unit that is mountable on the first substrate, and includes a member to be operated, a first wireless communication module that outputs a signal in accordance with operation of the member to be operated, and a first terminal that contacts the wiring pattern and supplies a power source to the first wireless communication module; and a position defining member that defines a position of the input unit on the first substrate.
Retention features of a portable computer
A portable computing device is disclosed. The portable computing device includes a retention member that provides a force to a flexible circuit disposed in a top portion and a bottom portion of the portable computing device. The retention member limits movement of the flexible circuit when, for example, the flexible circuit receives a force in response to the top portion pivoting with respect to the bottom portion. The bottom portion of the portable computing devices includes a bottom case having multiple terraced regions. The terraced regions allow the bottom portion to receive additional internal components, such as one or more battery packs, a main logic board, and/or one or more speaker modules. The battery packs are secured to the terraced region via adhesive rings. Although the terraced regions require additional material removed from the bottom case, the internal components secured to the bottom case provide structural support.
Non-uniform pressure actuation threshold value
A capacitance sensing module may include a capacitance sensor; a pressure sensor in mechanical communication with the capacitance sensor; a processor and memory; programmed instructions stored in the memory to cause the processor, when executed, to determine, with the capacitance sensor, a location of a user input; determine, with the pressure sensor, a pressure value of the user input applied to the capacitance sensor; and determine whether the pressure value exceeds a non-uniform actuation threshold value where the non-uniform actuation threshold value is based, at least in part, on the location of the user input on the capacitance sensor.
Gaming device with an inclined surface
An example of an information processing apparatus is portable and performs predetermined processing in accordance with a user operation. The information processing apparatus includes: a plate-like housing so shaped that a thickness of an upper side surface of the housing is greater than a thickness of a lower side surface of the housing such that the closer to the lower side surface, the thinner the housing; and at least one operation button provided on the upper side surface of the housing.
INFORMATION HANDLING SYSTEM KEYBOARD DISPOSITION AUTOMATED USING PERFORMANCE METRICS
End users subscribe to use information handling systems having a selected of available performance characteristics defined by a keyboard and touchpad configuration selected to build the information handling systems. A manufacturer meets subscriptions with information handling systems built from an inventory of new keyboards, deployed keyboards of information handling system in use by subscribers, and separated keyboards taken from returned information handling systems and re-used. End user subscriptions are met in part by building replacement information handling systems with separated keyboards having a useful life remaining that aligns with end user keyboard usage patterns tracked over time, benchmarked performance metrics and end user subscription performance characteristics.
MODULAR INFORMATION HANDLING SYSTEM AND SUBSCRIPTION DEPLOYMENT THEREOF
A portable information handling system modular hybrid architecture separates components between rotationally coupled housing portions to minimize cabling, connectors and materials, and to provide improved durability that supports recycling and reuse of the components. For example, a plurality of main board configurations provide selectable performance characteristics assembled behind a display in one housing portion and powered by a battery and charger in the other housing portion. A secondary board that supports the charger provides a variety of customizable secondary functions, such as audio processing supported by integrated speakers, a keyboard interfaced with an embedded controller and held by a housing cover.
MODULAR INFORMATION HANDLING SYSTEM COMPONENT CONNECTIONS
A portable information handling system modular hybrid architecture separates components between rotationally coupled housing portions to minimize cabling, connectors and materials, and to provide improved durability that supports recycling and reuse of the components. For example, a secondary board coupled in a first housing portion exposes a keyboard connector that communicates with a keyboard connector interface when a cover having the keyboard couples over the first housing portion. A battery connector exposed at a side of the secondary board has pins that directly interface with a battery connector interface of a battery. The secondary board supports modular assembly and disassembly of the keyboard and battery for improved recycling of components to reuse.
Solvent free textile coating
The description relates to solvent free films and textiles that receive the solvent free films.
Portable computer electrical grounding and audio system architectures
A portable computing device having a substantially non-conducting outer housing and alternative electrical grounding and audio system architectures is disclosed. The device can be a laptop computer having a main logic board, a keyboard assembly, an audio source positioned below the keyboard assembly, and an equalizer electrically coupled to the audio source, with each of these components being electrically coupled to a universal grounding structure. The audio source emits sound waves that are propagated through the keyboard assembly and between gaps between keyboard keys and the outer housing. Settings for the equalizer can be selected to account for sound absorption and amplification characteristics of the sound waves along these sound transmission paths. The universal grounding structure includes a plurality of separate ground components that are electrically intercoupled, each being substantially smaller than the overall portable computing device, and also includes an electromagnetic interference shield around the main logic board.

A portable computing device includes at least a base portion of a lightweight material that includes at least a wedge shaped top case having a trough formed at an interfacing edge thereof. The trough includes a raised portion having a first contact surface and a receiving area, and a bottom case coupled to the top case to form a complete housing for at least a portion of the portable computing device for enclosing at least a plurality of operational components and a plurality of structural components. The portable computing device also includes at least a lid portion pivotally connected to the base portion by a hinge assembly. In the described embodiments, the lid portion has a display in communication with one or more of the plurality of components in the base portion by way of or more electrical conductors that electrically connect the base portion to the lid portion.
