An electronic equipment chassis adapted to house a motherboard includes a side, a back, and a mid-plane support. A carrier for housing at least one power supply is disposed within the electronic equipment chassis. The carrier is supported by the back and mid-plane support. The carrier does not intersect a horizontal plane of the motherboard.

Physical electronic bulletin board system

Among other things, we describe a physical bulletin board. The bulletin board includes at least one physical component configured to interface with at least one electronic component. In some implementations, the bulletin board includes the electronic component, e.g., as a built-in display. For example, the built-in display may be associated with a processor that can run software that augments the functionality of the bulletin board. In some implementations, the bulletin board includes a component, such as a mounting apparatus, that receives a mobile computing device (MCD). For example, the MCD can run software that augments the functionality of the bulletin board.

Remote power button actuation device for a pre-assembled computer system integrated into a server for a virtualization service

A branded fleet server system includes a pre-assembled third-party computer system integrated into a chassis of the branded fleet server system. The pre-assembled third-party computer system is configured to execute proprietary software that is only licensed for use on branded hardware. A baseboard management controller (BMC) included in the server chassis couples with the pre-assembled computer system via one or more cables coupled to ports of the pre-assembled computer system. The BMC enables remote control of the pre-assembled computer system, such as remote power on and power off. An electro-mechanical device, such as a solenoid, presses a power button of the pre-assembled computer system based on control signals from the BMC to change a power state of the pre-assembled computer system.

Computer isolation housing

A modular mounting for a computer motherboard. An outer cabinet is designed to provide a protective enclosure for electrical components, and designed to permit throughhole drilling to facilitate mounting on a wall while avoiding disturbance of contents to be mounted within the outer cabinet. A subpanel plate is designed to detachably and securely attach a computer motherboard and cage assembly, and designed to removably mount the motherboard and cage assembly within the outer cabinet as a modular component, mounting of the motherboard and cage assembly being independent of power supply and nonvolatile storage. An inner cage is designed to protectably mount and enclose a computer motherboard and heat sink, and mount to the subpanel plate. A multipole switch may have a set of contacts for each conductor of a network cable entering the outer cabinet, one throw of the switch connecting all conductors of the cable, another throw of the switch disconnecting all contacts of the cable.

Alignment mechanism for removable module

An electronic device includes a chassis housing one or more electronic components, a module configured to be inserted into a channel defined by the chassis, and an alignment mechanism disposed in the channel. The alignment mechanism has a body portion that defines an aperture. When the module is initially inserted into the channel in a first orientation, a first portion of the module passes over the aperture and compresses the body portion of the alignment mechanism along a first axis, to allow the module to be fully inserted into the channel. When the module is initially inserted into the channel in a second orientation, a second portion of the module passes through the aperture and does not compress the body portion of the alignment mechanism along the first axis, to prevent the module from being fully inserted into the channel.

A power supply housing adapted to a redundant power module includes a casing, a separation member, two front plates and a back plate. The casing includes four side plates and an installation space defined by the side plates. The separation member divides the installation space into a first sub-space and a second sub-space, and includes two first baffles located in the first sub-space and two second baffles located in the second sub-space. The two first baffles define a first installation region for disposing a redundant power module, and the two second baffles define a second installation region for disposing the redundant power module. The front plates are disposed on one end of the installation space and define a placement opening, serving as an entrance of the first and the second installation region. The back plate is disposed on one end of the installation space not provided with the front plates.

Redundant power supply motherboard assembly

A redundant power supply motherboard assembly connects control segments of a fieldbus-type control system to a host computer. The assembly has a compact design with pairs of power supply modules in side-by-side nests on the motherboard. The nests are mounted on the motherboard in desired locations and securely hold the modules on the assembly despite vibrations, shocks and handling to prevent contact impairment. The nests provide touch protection for components on the motherboard.
