Eyewear including a support structure defining a region for receiving a head of a user. The support structure supports optical elements, electronic components, and a use detector. The use detector is coupled to the electronic components and is positioned to identify when the head of the user is within the region defined by the support structure. The electronic components monitor the use detector and transition from a first mode of operation to a second mode of operation when the use detector senses the head of the user in the region.

Memristor crossbar arrays to activate processors

In one example, a device to process analog sensor data is described. For example, a device may include at least one analog sensor to generate a first set of analog voltage signals and a crossbar array including a plurality of memristors. In one example, the crossbar array is to receive an input vector of the first set of analog voltage signals, generate an output vector comprising a second set of analog voltage signals that is based upon a dot product of the input vector and a matrix comprising resistance values of the plurality of memristors, detect a pattern of the output vector, and activate a processor upon a detection of the pattern.

The present invention provides a terminal control method, a protective case, and a terminal. In the method, a terminal may be disposed with two Hall effect sensors for sensing a change of a magnetic field generated by a magnet in a protective case, and identify a forward snap-fit operation, an opening operation, a backward snap-fit operation, and the like of the protective case. When detecting the forward snap-fit operation of the protective case, the terminal performs a screen off operation; or when detecting the backward snap-fit operation of the protective case, the terminal may skip performing screen off operation. In embodiments of the present invention, the protective case can be prevented from turning off a screen by mistake, so as to improve terminal control accuracy.

System-on-a-chip incorporating artificial neural network and general-purpose processor circuitry

A circuit system and a method of analyzing audio or video input data that is capable of detecting, classifying, and post-processing patterns in an input data stream. The circuit system may consist of one or more digital processors, one or more configurable spiking neural network circuits, and digital logic for the selection of two-dimensional input data. The system may use the neural network circuits for detecting and classifying patterns and one or more the digital processors to perform further detailed analyses on the input data and for signaling the result of an analysis to outputs of the system.

Power detection for identifying suspicious devices

A computer-implemented method includes monitoring, by a power monitor on a computer device, for a peripheral device connection. The peripheral device connection connecting a peripheral device to an input/output port of the computer device. The input/output port is configured to provide power from a power supply of the computer device to the peripheral device. In response to the monitoring for the peripheral device connection identifying the peripheral device connection, the method includes determining, by the power monitor, a device type and a negotiated power of the peripheral device as connected. The power monitor determines whether the negotiated power of the peripheral device as connected matches expected power information. In response to determining the negotiated power of the peripheral device does not match the expected power information, the power monitor takes action on the computer device.

ADAPTIVE THERMAL COOLING MECHANISM APPARATUS, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR VEHICLE PROCESSOR

A cooling mechanism apparatus, system, and method for adaptively controlling heat of a vehicle processor, includes a processor configured to control deactivation or activation of an application driving the in-vehicle controller depending on grades of a predetermined functional safety level of the application and to determine an order of the deactivation or the activation of the application when heat is generated in the controller.

Buck-Boost Converter

A buck-boost power converter is operable in a first mode (step-down) or in a second mode (step-up). The power converter has an inductor, a flying capacitor, a network of six switches and a driver adapted to drive the network of switches with a sequence of states. Depending on the mode of operation the sequence of states comprises at least one of a first state and a second state. In the first state the ground port is coupled to the second port via two paths, a first path comprising the flying capacitor and the inductor, and a second path comprising the flying capacitor while bypassing the inductor. In the second state the first port is coupled to the second port via a path that includes the inductor and the ground port is coupled to the first port via a path that includes the flying capacitor while bypassing the inductor.

High-efficiency low-ripple burst mode for a charge pump

An apparatus is disclosed for operating a charge pump in a high-efficiency low-ripple burst mode. In an example aspect, the apparatus includes a charge pump with a flying capacitor, a switching circuit, and a burst-mode controller. The switching circuit is coupled to the flying capacitor and configured to selectively: be in a burst configuration to charge and discharge the flying capacitor based on a clock signal; or be in a pulse-skipping configuration. The burst-mode controller is coupled to the switching circuit and configured to trigger the switching circuit to transition from the pulse-skipping configuration to the burst configuration at a time that occurs between rising edges of the clock signal. The burst-mode controller is also configured to cause charging of the flying capacitor to occur for approximately half a period of the clock signal responsive to triggering the switching circuit to transition from the pulse-skipping configuration to the burst configuration.
