GENERATING A THREE-DIMENSIONAL VISUALIZATION OF A SPLIT INPUT DEVICE
A method includes providing a split input device that includes a left portion for use by a user's left hand, and a right portion for use by the user's right hand. The method includes capturing images of the split input device while the split input device is being used by the user in a split configuration in which the left portion is physically separated from the right portion, and generating a three-dimensional (3D) visualization of the split input device based on the captured images, wherein the split input device appears in the 3D visualization as a single input device in a combined configuration.
Adjustable keyboard
An adjustable keyboard includes a driving element, a first plate, a second plate and a plurality of keys. The second plate is disposed between the first plate and the keys, wherein the second plate has a plurality of key openings and the keys are respectively aligned with the key openings. The driving element is configured to drive the first plate to move, and thus a plurality of first guide portions on the first plate respectively push a plurality of second guide portions on the second plate so as to move the second plate and adjust the distance between each of the keys and the corresponding key opening.
User interfaces for improving single-handed operation of devices
The embodiments herein describe a mode of applications on the portable electronic device that improves single-handed operation of the devices. For example, the embodiments herein describe an ergonomic mode of an application that displays the graphical user interface (GUI) of the application in a bottom area of the display screen of the electronic device to allow the user to more easily interact with objects. The embodiments herein also describe an ergonomic mode of a keyboard displayed on the display screen of the portable electronic device. During the ergonomic mode of the keyboard, the keyboard is shifted towards a vertical edge of the display screen to allow a user to more easily reach keys of the keyboard that were previously unreachable without the user switching to two handed operation of the device or repositioning the electronic device in the user's hand.
Device having integrated interface system
A portable computer includes a display portion comprising a display and a base portion pivotally coupled to the display portion. The base portion may include a bottom case and a top case, formed from a dielectric material, coupled to the bottom case. The top case may include a top member defining a top surface of the base portion and a sidewall integrally formed with the top member and defining a side surface of the base portion. The portable computer may also include a sensing system including a first sensing system configured to determine a location of a touch input applied to the top surface of the base portion and a second sensing system configured to determine a force of the touch input.
KEYBOARD
A keyboard facilitates efficient, intuitive, and speedy data entry in, for example, Hindi, via its Devanagari script. The keyboard has one or more of the following features: single-hand operation; ergonomic operation; a first group of keys positioned for operation by an operator's thumb; a second group of keys positioned for operation by one or more non-thumb fingers of the operator; a separation between the first and second groups of keys; a key layout based on frequency of character usage; within each distinct group of keys, one or more keys that are sized and shaped for operation using fine motor skills of fingertips; and keying motions that parallel composition of words and sentences in any Brahmic script, such as Bengali, Buginese, Buh d Burmese, Devanagari, Gujarati, Gurmukhi, Hanunoo, Kannada, Khmer, Lao, Limbu, Malayalam, Oriya, Sinhala, Syloti Nari, Tagalog, Tagbanwa, Tai Le, Tamil, Telugu, Thai, or Tibetan.
Apparatus and method for arranging a keypad in wireless terminal
An apparatus and method for arranging a keypad in a wireless terminal, and more particularly, to an apparatus and method for arranging a keypad in a wireless terminal to conveniently perform a key input in the wireless terminal, the apparatus including: a display unit for displaying the keypad in at least one of a right and left side on a screen of the display unit in a horizontal mode of the wireless terminal; and a controller for controlling the display unit to display the keypad in the right and/or left side on the screen of the display unit in the horizontal mode of the wireless terminal.
Adjustable Keyboard
The present invention extends adjustable keyboard components. A user can selectively adjust height, tilt, and other keyboard positioning aspects (e.g., pitch, tilt, roll, yaw etc.), to accommodate the specific preferences and/or physical or anatomical characteristics of the user. Keyboard adjustments can tailor a solid foundational position for the user's fingers and hands. The keyboard can include separate left and right modules. Adjustability and separability facilitate highly variable and independent movement of the user's left and right hands. Adjustments and re-adjustments allow a user to make a wide range of alterations to their typing position at any point in time based on circumstances and comfort. As such, adjustments and re-adjustments can (potentially significantly) reduce discomfort and/or injuries associated with repetitive motion.
Systems and Methods for Virtual Keyboards for High Dimensional Controllers
Systems and methods for using virtual keyboards for high dimensional controllers in accordance with embodiments of the invention are illustrated. One embodiment includes a virtual keyboard system including a processor, and a memory, including a virtual keyboard application, where the virtual keyboard application directs the processor to display a plurality of 3D keys in a virtual environment, where each 3D key represents at least one symbol via a display device, display a cursor in the virtual environment, where the cursor is movable in at least three dimensions via the display device, obtain a user input data from an input device, move the cursor to a 3D key in the plurality of 3D keys based on the user input data, and record the at least one symbol represented by the 3D key.
ADAPTIVE KEYBOARD
An adjustable keyboard is provided. The adjustable keyboard includes keys, a housing to house the keys and a control system. The housing includes modifiable material between at least first and second ones of the keys. The control system controls the modifiable material to modify a positional relationship between at least the first and second keys.
Programmatic, pluggable keyboard
A physical computer keyboard which includes: a circuit board having touchpoints; physical programmable, pluggable keys such that each of the keys is programmable to provide the function of each of the keys, each of the keys having interlocking elements to join with an adjoining key, each key having connectors on a bottom surface of each key to make electrical contact with the touchpoints; and display panels with one display panel on a top surface of each key, the function of each key being displayed on the display panel of each key.
