DEVICE HAVING INTEGRATED INTERFACE SYSTEM
A device includes a display portion that includes a display housing and a display within the display housing. The device also includes a base portion flexibly coupled to the display portion and comprising a glass member defining a keyboard region configured to receive user input, a first haptic actuator configured to produce a first haptic output at a first area of the keyboard region, and a second haptic actuator configured to produce a second haptic output at a second area of the keyboard region that is different from the first area.
DEVICE HAVING INTEGRATED INTERFACE SYSTEM
A portable computer includes a display portion comprising a display, a base portion pivotally coupled to the display portion and including a glass top case. The glass top case defines an exterior surface and a keyboard opening through the glass top case from the exterior surface to an interior surface. The portable computer further includes a keyboard positioned at least partially within the keyboard opening and comprising a substrate, a key configured to move relative to the substrate, and a fabric cover disposed over the key and defining a user interface surface of the key.
Through Hole Keyboard
The present description relates to devices, such as keyboards. One example can include a top portion and an opposing bottom portion and key switches that are mechanically retained in holes formed in the top cover. The example can also include electrical traces formed on the top cover that extend from the holes to a processing unit that is configured to receive electrical signals along the electrical traces when the key switches are closed.
Ergonomic computer keyboard
The ergonomic computer keyboard is configured for use with a computer. The ergonomic computer keyboard is adapted for use with a person. The ergonomic computer keyboard is an interface device that enables a person to use the computer. The ergonomic computer keyboard comprises a housing and a key set. The key set is installed in the housing. The orientation of the key set is set such that the angle of attack of a finger to a key selected from the key set key is adjusted relative to a traditional computer keyboard. This adjusted orientation results in a more natural orientation of the hands to the key set relative to the traditional computer keyboard. The ordering of the indicia of each key in the key set is adjusted relative to the QWERTY ordering such that hand movements are minimized during the typing process.
INPUT DEVICE
An input device according to the present invention includes: a thumb keyboard part having a plurality of keys provided on a wall surface of an upright wall structure; and four-finger keyboard parts connected to one side of the thumb keyboard part and extending to the other side thereof, and having a plurality of keys provided on the surface thereof. The thumb keyboard part of the upright wall structure is provided at one side of the four-finger keyboard part, and thus the plurality of keys are arranged on an upright wall so as to correspond to the horizontal movement of the thumb such that the utilization of the thumb is maximized, thereby enabling improvements of keyboard input speed and work efficiency to be promoted.
Configurable hot keys for an input device of an information handling system
Aspects of this disclosure implement at least one sensor in a user input device with an identifiable user input on an information handling system. A method may include receiving, by an information handling system, an indication that at least one sensor, located on an outward facing surface of a frame housing a user input device, is actuated; comparing, by the information handling system, the indication to an active profile configuration; and identifying, by the information handling system, the indication as an input based on the active profile configuration. Other aspects are also disclosed.
Device having integrated interface system
A portable computer includes a display portion comprising a display and a base portion pivotally coupled to the display portion. The base portion may include a bottom case and a top case, formed from a dielectric material, coupled to the bottom case. The top case may include a top member defining a top surface of the base portion and a sidewall integrally formed with the top member and defining a side surface of the base portion. The portable computer may also include a sensing system including a first sensing system configured to determine a location of a touch input applied to the top surface of the base portion and a second sensing system configured to determine a force of the touch input.
Ergonomic keyboard assembly
Disclosed is an ergonomic keyboard assembly which comprises a first keyboard and a second keyboard each connected to one another via a cable. The keyboard assembly further includes first and second keyboards which are positioned on the respective top surfaces of first and second flat members. The keyboard assembly also includes elongated members positioned on first and second flat members, respectively. The keyboard assembly includes cylindrical knobs rotatably mounted on top surfaces of elongated members respectively. The keyboard assembly further includes first and second L-shaped members connected to the bottom surfaces of flat members respectively and also pivotally connected to each other. The keyboard assembly further includes third and fourth L-shaped members connected to the bottom surface of the flat members and movably connected to the first and second L-shaped member respectively by one or more connecting elements.
Data entry keyboard
An apparatus for entering alphabetic data into a computer or other electronic or mechanical devices with a keyboard, wherein: the alphabet letters are placed in an ordered arrangement, the vowels are grouped together, the vowels are all placed on the left side of the keyboard, each vowel has the same color code, the consonants are arranged in groups, the consonant groups are arranged from left to right in alphabetic group order, each consonant group has a specific color code, two groups of consonants have the same color, and letters in each consonant group are arranged vertically across the three rows of the keyboard, with the exception of the JK consonant group which is arranged horizontally on a single row of the keys.
ADJUSTABLE ERGONOMIC KEYBOARD
An adjustable keyboard having a number of keys is formed in at least two segments which are mutually movable relative to one another using a hinge or joint. Each of the segments of the keyboard has mounted thereon some of the keys. The adjustable nature of the keyboard reduces stress and discomfort to the user by reducing contortion to the user's wrists. More particularly, discomfort to the user caused by pronation of the wrists and/or ulnar deviation of the wrists is reduced. The hinge or joint is in the form of a ball and socket-type joint with a locking mechanism, which preferably includes a pivoted handle, in the form of a lever, used for locking and unlocking the hinge or joint. The surface of at least one of the ball and socket of the joint define a plurality of recesses or a plurality of projections, to provide increased resistance to joint movement.
