Gesture keyboard method and apparatus
A gesture-enabled keyboard and method are defined. The gesture-enabled keyboard includes a keyboard housing including one or more keyboard keys for typing, a pair of stereo camera sensors mounted within the keyboard housing, a field of view of the pair of stereo camera sensors projecting substantially perpendicularly to the plane of the keyboard housing, and a pair of micro-electronic machines, each of the micro-electronic machines being coupled with, and adapted to adjust a position of a corresponding one of the pair of stereo cameras. A background of the field of view is updated when one or more alternative input devices are in use. A gesture region including a plurality of interaction zones and a virtual membrane defining a region of transition from one of the plurality of interaction zones to another of the plurality of interaction zones is defined within the field of view of the pair of stereo camera sensors. Gesture interaction is enabled when one or more gesture objects are positioned within the gesture region, and when one or more alternative input devices are not in use.
Immersive display controlled by haptic switch
A haptic switch can be used to control one or more display screens. In an example embodiment, the haptic switch takes the form of a flooring sample—such as a sample piece or swatch of a flooring material, for example, ceramic tile, wood, or carpet—that is affixed or otherwise mechanically coupled to an electronic sensor, such as a proximity sensor, a touch sensor, or a pressure sensor. The haptic switch is communicatively coupled to a machine, and the machine stores or is otherwise able to access a database that correlates the haptic switch or its included flooring sample to corresponding texture map data that depicts the flooring sample. The haptic switch is thus usable to select its corresponding texture map data and cause the machine to use the selected texture map data in generating video content and displaying the generated video content on one or more display screens.
Neural network for keyboard input decoding
In some examples, a computing device includes at least one processor; and at least one module, operable by the at least one processor to: output, for display at an output device, a graphical keyboard; receive an indication of a gesture detected at a location of a presence-sensitive input device, wherein the location of the presence-sensitive input device corresponds to a location of the output device that outputs the graphical keyboard; determine, based on at least one spatial feature of the gesture that is processed by the computing device using a neural network, at least one character string, wherein the at least one spatial feature indicates at least one physical property of the gesture; and output, for display at the output device, based at least in part on the processing of the at least one spatial feature of the gesture using the neural network, the at least one character string.
AUTOCLAVABLE KEYPAD WITH HAPTIC FEEDBACK FOR VIDEO ENDOSCOPES
A keypad includes a support, a snap disk on a first side of the support transformable from a released state to a loaded state, a cover forming a seal over the first side, a pocket in the cover, a magnet and a plunger disposed in the pocket, the plunger adapted to engage and transform the snap disk to the loaded state, a magnetic field sensor on a second side of the support, the second side opposite the first side and logic circuitry adapted to obtain a value of a strength of a magnetic field from the sensor, compare the value against a predetermined threshold value that corresponds at least approximately to the strength of a magnetic field, and when the plunger has transformed the snap disk to the loaded state and the value reaches or exceeds the threshold value, output a signal indicating that a key press occurred.
System and method for coordinating gaming haptic response across peripheral device ecosystem
A haptic peripheral device ecosystem coordination system may comprise a display device displaying a three-dimensional (3D) gaming environment, the processor identifying a gaming action event occurring in the 3D gaming environment, based on a detected action event indicator, and determining a position of the gaming action event relative to a player avatar image within the 3D gaming environment, the processor transmitting a haptic command to a controller for a triggered haptic peripheral device, the haptic command selected based on an identification of the gaming action event, the triggered haptic peripheral device selected from a plurality of peripheral devices based on the position of the gaming action event, the controller for the triggered haptic peripheral causing haptic feedback at the triggered haptic peripheral device at a position relative to the user that is correlated to the position of the gaming action event with respect to the player avatar image.
Method And Device For Faciliating Interactions With A Peripheral Device
In one implementation, a method for displaying a first pairing affordance that is world-locked to a first peripheral device. The method may be performed by an electronic device including a non-transitory memory, one or more processors, a display, and one or more input devices. The method includes detecting the first peripheral device within a three-dimensional (3D) environment via a computer vision technique. The method includes receiving, via the one or more input devices, a first user input that is directed to the first peripheral device within the 3D environment. The method includes, in response to receiving the first user input, displaying, on the display, the first pairing affordance that is world-locked to the first peripheral device within the 3D environment.
Composite computer keyboard
This invention adds a touch screen to a hardware keyboard as additional input from handwriting for a PC or a laptop. The new keyboard with a small size touch screen provides convenient ways for handwriting notes, drawing graph or painting, converting handwritten characters to formal text. The new keyboard with a large size touch screen can work with a PC/laptop as a PC/laptop with the advantage of input from touch screen over traditional PC/laptop. The new keyboard with a large size touch screen can work with a PC/laptop as a tablet with the advantage of input from hardware keys and mouse over a regular tablet. The new keyboard with a large size touch screen can work with a PC/laptop as a PC/laptop and a tablet simultaneously, either PC/laptop or tablet with the advantage of additional said input ways over a traditional PC/laptop or a tablet. An optional fingerprint sensor provides fingerprint for security application, e.g., account login, document sign and identity verification.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING SECURITY TO A GAME CONTROLLER DEVICE FOR ELECTRONIC TRADING
A system for managing electronic trading, comprises an interface application including a mapping module that defines a plurality of controller signal relationships. Each controller signal relationship associates one or more of a plurality of game controller signals with one of a plurality of trading system commands associated with the electronic trading of financial instruments. The interface application receives a plurality of game controller signals generated by a game controller, and determines, based on the controller signal relationships, that one or more of the plurality of received game controller signals are erroneous. The interface application causes the communication of a command to lock the game controller based on the determination of the one or more erroneous game controller signals.
MULTI-STATE KEYBOARD FUNCTION ROW
A multi-state keyboard function row is provided. A plurality of representations can be formed on an insert of the multi-state keyboard function row. An assembly of the multi-state keyboard function row can be configured to cause either a first set of the representations or a second set of the representations to be visible to a user. A brightness of the representations may also be controlled based on a brightness of ambient light.
SWITCHABLE CONVERSION OF A STANDARD KEYBOARD TO A BRAILLE INTERFACE
Keyboards that are selectably configurable between a standard interface and a braille interface. In embodiments, the keyboard is equipped with six keys corresponding to six dots of a braille matrix, each of the keys equipped with a shape memory alloy spring or other mechanism to cause each of the keys to selectably extend above the keyboard plane. On activation, the six keys are extended and the remaining keys deactivated, to provide an easy to locate braille interface. On subsequent activation, the six keys are retracted and the keyboard is reverted to a standard interface. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.
