Electronic device

A low-cost electronic device capable of storing keycaps within a chassis is disclosed. The electronic device includes a support plate; a set of keycaps supported above the top face of the support plate, the keycaps moving up and down between the operating position and the storage position; and a frame functioning as a driving member that is movable relative to the keycaps in the direction parallel to the top face of the support plate. Each keycap has a pressure-receiving part. The frame has pressing parts that move relative to the keycaps to come in contact with the pressure-receiving parts.

An information handling system integrated keyboard selectively retracts and extends keys based upon detected conditions, such as housing configuration, housing motion and end user indications. Extension and retraction shuttle plates motivated by actuator wires moves a sliding plate to extended and retracted positions that define the key positions. Nickel titanium alloy actuator wires shorten upon application of current to pull the shuttle plates to the extended or retracted positions that are maintained by a lock. Limit switches remove current at detection of a desired shuttle plate position. One or more controllers manage actuator wire operation based upon detected conditions and actuator wire temperature and electrical characteristics.

HINGED DEVICE AND ASSOCIATED INPUT DEVICE

The description relates to hinged devices, such as hinged computing devices and associated input devices. One example can include first and second device portions and a hinge assembly rotatably securing the first portion and the second portion through a range of orientations. This example can also include a wedge-shaped input device extending between a first end having a first thickness and a second end having a second greater thickness. In a closed orientation the first and second portions simultaneously contact the first end and the second end.

LOW-PROFILE KEYBOARD

A keyboard (110) comprises a base board (116), keys (112), pitfalls (120) and a mode control mechanism (118). The keys (112) include cups (1124), and the mode control mechanism (118) may switch the keyboard (110) especially the key cups (1124) between different modes. In case that the keyboard (110) is not in use, these cups (1124) can be received in the pitfalls (120) to reduce the profile of the keyboard (110). In case that the keyboard (110) is to be used, the keys (112) may be raised up and arranged on the base board (116) in order to enable long keystroke and provide good typing experience.

A flexible device, comprising a housing (10) and a flexible element (20), and further comprising a driving element (30) received in the housing (10). The driving element (30) may drive the flexible element (20) to be received in the housing (10) when working. By enabling the housing (10) to receive the driving element (30), the length of the flexible device can he effectively reduced, so that the flexible device is easy to carry.

Key structure

A key structure includes a key cap, a supporting board, a bridge assembly, a first supporting part, a second supporting part, an attractable element and a magnet. The bridge assembly includes first and second hinge parts. The first hinge part has a first pivot coupling portion. The second hinge part has a second pivot coupling portion. The first and second supporting parts are coupled to two ends of the first and second pivot coupling portions, respectively, wherein the first and the second supporting parts are disposed on the supporting board, a material of the first supporting part is different from a material of the supporting board, and a material of the second supporting part is different from the material of the supporting board. The attractable element is disposed on the second hinge part. The magnet is correspondingly located under the attractable element.
