Keyboard with input modes

A keyboard includes a processing resource and a memory resource storing machine-readable instructions to cause the processing resource to communicate, in response to the keyboard being in a computing device input mode, with a computing device connected to the keyboard, and communicate, in response to the keyboard being in a mobile device input mode, with a mobile device connected to the keyboard.

INFORMATION HANDLING SYSTEM LOCATION WAKEUP RADIO INTERFACE SYNCHRONIZED COMMUNICATIONS
20220308650 · 2022-09-29 · ·

An information handling system wirelessly interfaces with a location peripheral aid through primary radios that have a communication protocol, such as Bluetooth Low Energy or a wireless local area network, and through secondary radios having a low power wake and sleep using wake and sleep signals sent between the secondary radios. The location peripheral aid establishes communication with the information handling system, which reports its position to a network location to allow tracking location of the peripheral aid. The peripheral primary and secondary radio transmit and receive states operate with different profiles to manage power based upon bi-directional communications tracked over time.

INPUT DEVICE FOR ELECTRONIC DEVICE

According to one embodiment, a system includes an electronic apparatus and an extension device detachable from and attachable to the apparatus. The extension device includes a first battery. The apparatus includes a second battery, a power supply circuit configured to generate operation power of the apparatus with power from a power supply source, a switching circuit configured to switch the power supply source to one battery of the first battery and the second battery, when the power supply source is an other battery of the first battery and the second battery and a switching signal is input, and a power supply controller configured to output the switching signal to the switching circuit after exerting control for reducing power consumption of the apparatus.

WIRELESS INPUT SYSTEM BASED ON INTRA-BODY COMMUNICATION AND IMPLEMENTATION METHOD THEREOF
20170262068 · 2017-09-14 ·

A wireless input system based on an intra-body communication and an implementation method thereof are provided. The method includes detecting, by a wireless keyboard, that a user clicks a plurality of keys of a keyboard and recording a keying code information corresponding to the keys; transmitting the recorded keying code information via an intra-body communication; receiving, by an intelligent wearable device, the keying code information; and mapping the received keying code information to a simulated keyboard keying code information and starting a searching mode of a default input method to search corresponding text messages for input. The present invention improves the input efficiency of the intelligent wearable device.

UNIVERSAL KEYBOARD

A keyboard for physically handicapped persons, including a translucent surface, a capacitive layer underneath the translucent surface, enabling detection of touch location and pressure on the translucent surface, a projection system dynamically projecting a plurality of visual layouts of keys of a keyboard on the translucent surface, wherein each visual layout includes ASCII character keys or graphical buttons, and a dynamic keyboard layout generator configured to receive user input in conformance with a currently projected layout of keys from a physically handicapped user, and to generate therefrom a time series of ASCII characters or button selections for input to the computing device, to dynamically adjust pressure sensitivity of the keyboard to avoid spurious user input, and to dynamically adjust key sizes and positions in a current virtual layout of keys, to reduce the amount of hand motion required by the user and the amount of discomfort experienced by the user.

Efficient Communication Scheme for Split Keyboard
20210373675 · 2021-12-02 · ·

A split wireless keyboard for communicating with a host device includes first and second keyboard halves. Each keyboard half communicates wirelessly with the host device to communicate that a key has been depressed or released. The keyboard halves communicate wirelessly with each other to signal key status changes. The two keyboard halves alternate serving as master and slave depending upon which keyboard half has most recently detected a change of key status, and only the keyboard half designated as the master actively communicates with the host. Wireless communications among the two keyboard halves and the host may use Bluetooth short-range wireless technology protocol. One keyboard half initially pairs with the host, and then shares a wireless link key with the other keyboard half during a setup phase. A Y-shaped hardwired connection cable may be used to interconnect the two keyboard halves to the host device instead of using wireless communications.

REMOVABLE COMMUNICATION DEVICE

A removable communication device is described herein. The removable communication device is configured to communicatively couple to a variety of receiving devices via a physical and/or electrical connection. When coupled the removable communication device can control the variety of receiving devices at least in part by using a touchscreen user interface located on the removable communication device.

SECURE KEYBOARD WITH AUTO KEY LOCK USING MOBILE DEVICE SIGNAL RANGE TRACKING
20230274038 · 2023-08-31 · ·

A keyboard of an information handling system includes keyboard (RF) transmitter/receiver that provides range information for a mobile device paired to the keyboard RF transmitter/receiver. A keyboard controller is coupled to the keyboard RF transmitter/receiver and is responsive to the range information indicating the mobile device is out of range to disable key input data of the keyboard. After the key input data is disabled, the keyboard controller enables the key input data responsive to the range information indicating the mobile device has come back into range. The keyboard RF transmitter/receiver communicates with a host RF transmitter/receiver over a first RF channel and communicates with the mobile device over a second RF channel. The keyboard controller enables the key input data responsive to a successful override of the keyboard input data being disabled. The override is a predetermined key sequence and/or a valid finger print.
