RING INPUT DEVICES

An external device, such as a head-mountable device, can be operated with a ring input device worn on a finger of a user. Such devices can be operated to provide inputs that are received and acted upon by the external device. The inputs can be provided as rotating, tilting, and/or sliding at least a portion of the ring input device with another finger of the user. The ring input device can provide feedback to the user as confirmation that the inputs are being received. A feedback system can also be operated to limit or otherwise provide a force on the finger and/or another portion of the hand to simulate sensations perceived by the user.

Consistent with disclosed embodiments, systems, methods, and computer readable media including instructions for implementing hybrid virtual keys in an extended reality environment are disclosed. Embodiments may include a processor to receive signals from a touch-sensitive surface, wherein a wearable extended reality appliance may virtually project a plurality of virtual activatable elements on the touch-sensitive surface. The plurality of virtual activatable elements virtually projected on the touch-sensitive surface may be a proper sub-set of a group of virtual activatable elements, based on the action of a user. The processor may receive touch inputs from the user via the touch-sensitive surface and identify one of the plurality of virtual activatable elements. The processor may cause a change in virtual content based on the identified virtual activatable element.

Temperature-controlled wearable extended reality appliance

Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer readable media containing instructions for causing at least one processor to perform operations for changing display of virtual content based on temperature are provided. In one implementation, the processor is configured to perform operations comprising displaying virtual content via a wearable extended reality appliance, wherein during displaying of the virtual content, heat is generated by at least one component of the wearable extended reality appliance; receiving information indicative of a temperature associated with the wearable extended reality appliance; determining a need to change display settings of the virtual content based on the received information; and based on the determination, changing the display settings of the virtual content to achieve a target temperature.

Modality learning on mobile devices

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for cross input modality learning in a mobile device are disclosed. In one aspect, a method includes activating a first modality user input mode in which user inputs by way of a first modality are recognized using a first modality recognizer; and receiving a user input by way of the first modality. The method includes, obtaining, as a result of the first modality recognizer recognizing the user input, a transcription that includes a particular term; and generating an input context data structure that references at least the particular term. The method further includes, transmitting, by the first modality recognizer, the input context data structure to a second modality recognizer for use in updating a second modality recognition model associated with the second modality recognizer.

EOG-based method and apparatus for asynchronous character input

The present invention discloses an EOG-based method and apparatus for asynchronous character input, said method comprising the following steps: displaying a virtual keyboard having a total of N keys on a display, the virtual keyboard flickering in rounds, wherein in each round, all N keys randomly flicker once; when spelling, a user blinks after the flickering of a target key, so as to acquire electro-oculogram signals of the user in real-time; capturing electro-oculogram data within a time period following the flickering of a key from the acquired electro-oculogram signals, and using said electro-oculogram data as an original feature vector of the flickering key; N original feature vectors being generated in each cycle, an electro-oculogram identification method is called to identify the N original feature vectors, and outputting a certain result from 0 to N, wherein 0 indicates that a condition for character input is not met, and 1 to N correspond to the N keys on the virtual keyboard. The present invention ensures that blinking by a user may be detected normally, while at the same time effectively eliminating misjudgments of non-blinking signals, thus increasing the accuracy rate of character input.
